Our new '22 RDX Advance (PWP/Parchment)

Lots of great pics on the forum of A-spec Advance trims so I thought I'd post a photo of our new RDX Advance.

I had a local pro detailer apply Gtecniq Crystal Serum Ultra ceramic coating since white is "gloss challenged." I've coated 3 cars with Gtechniq's consumer grade coating (Crystal Serum Light and EXOv4), but I wanted a longer lasting coating (Ultra has a 9 year warranty) for my wife's car. Ceramic coating is not for everyone but if you're unfamiliar with who should consider it, ask away.

I'm pleased with the RDX so far. We had the 2013 RDX and loved the size and 6 cylinder, but a turbo 4 accelerates better at 7,000 ft. elevation where I live.

I appreciate all of the info I've picked up on this forum as I prepared to purchase the new car. I ordered it at MSRP, didn't have to buy a price-gouging dealer-installed package, and was pleased with my dealer's trade-in offer (i.e., higher than CarMax/Carvana/Vroom's offers).

Congratulations. Looks sharp. Shockingly, I like those wheels which is usual for an Acura. And they're the stock wheels.

Me too (on the wheels). And they’re easy to clean.

I wasn’t keen on the ‘19-‘21 Advance stock wheels.

Looks great! Love the white exterior on both the RDX and MDX but decided to go with Liquid Carbon Metallic on our '22 RDX as our last car of 15 years was white. Advance package wheels look much better for the '22 MMC. Congrats and enjoy!

Funny…as soon as the website for the ‘22 went up and I saw the Advance wheels, I decided that it’s the model for my wife. Nice to see that others consider wheels to be important.

I'm very much a "wheel guy" and I felt the same as soon as I saw the new Adv. wheel. I've owned now, 10 Acuras. This is at the top for a wheel. Sporty and yes, easier to clean
But, here's what I did. I bought the new A-Spec/Adv. model which comes with the dark A-spec wheels. Don't like dark, black wheels. They are 20"....so I ordered the Adv. wheels
and bought my Conti tires at 255/50/19's....which are the exact same diam. as the stock 255/45/20's that come on my model. I did this with the '19 A-Spec I had. Ride is much
better...since those stock RSA's are terrible tires. Had them on the '19 when delivered.

The Continental DSW 06 Plus tires are smooth and ride great. At the top with one other Ultra High Perf. All Season Tire. I've used them on other vehicles. Being a 50 series vs the 45 does help
with ride too. And actually look better on the veh.....as noticed by others at my dealership prior to my taking delivery.
Mine is also white with the red interior. My fav. combination.

I like this vehicle enough to consider one for myself. I would get the A-spec/Advance trim with the Liquid Carbon exterior. I haven’t seen the red interior and wondered how bright the red is? Thanks for your help.

Beautiful car! I love those wheels, I am actually looking for a set of take offs for my wife’s new 2022 PMC, but for snow tires. I prefer the smaller wheel/ larger aspect ratio, but she loves those 20” black PMC wheels. Maybe when she sees these Advance 19” ones she will change her mind and we can use them for summer😬. Not to be a thread hijack, but if anyone sees a set of “like new” take offs for sale online or at a dealer, please message me here. I have a Want To Buy ad in the classified section.

Thanks.

TC22, would you mind taking a hi-res closeup of one of your pretty wheels and posting it here? All I have seen online are blurry ones taken from a distance.

Thanks,

I don't think you'd regret it one second. To me, the red is not "bright"....it's set off by the black trim and many who have seen it like it. I wouldn't want "in your face bright red" either! LOL!
Has the same int. as the '19 A-Spec. I had. We liked it then and knew that is what we wanted again.

I think LC exterior with red is a killer combo. So is the blue with red. Lots of high end Euro cars use red int. a lot. Just looks "richer, expensive, gives life to the interior.

With my discounts I got the Adv wheels from Parts for less than $400 each. Sold the stock wheels/tires to the dealer and offset the cost of the wheels by 1/2. I've done this many times
with my dealer. Yes, I had the cost of my Conti tires, but, it's all worth it to me. Much better tires, the wheels look great on the A-Spec themed exterior too. But, again, each to their own.
I did get "converts" of black wheels....to saying my set up looked great. I let my Serv. Dir. drive the car, and my New Car Mgr. and friend drive it. The Mgr's wife has a '21 A-Spec. He says
the new Adv/A-Spec version does ride better. Mine was the first one he was able to get his hands on. More are on the way...but, I believe as most, they are cust. ordered. And for those wondering,
those guys would NOT have driven my RDX on their own without my saying..."please take it for a drive, then you'll know." Mine was the first of these to be there. They were respectful and didn't drive
it much at all, but, enough to get the "feel" of this new set up. Esp. with my tires on it. Again, those RSA's are junk. Have been for yrs....and that's not just me, you can read this in many areas on
AZ here about those same tires. I think they bought a shipload of them! They were std on my '19 A-Spec. Shocked to still see them on my '22. I knew ahead of time, so, made the wheel deal and
had my tires dropped shipped there from Tire Rack.

Driving in Comfort Mode around town I can def. tell the diff. in ride quality vs the '19 I had. And, again, I'm sure the 50 series sidewalls of my Contis help vs the 45 series. Every little bit helps.

Not that long ago, we had 2 RDX's...Gen 2, one for my wife in white and a silver one for me. I like to "play cars!" LOL!

It's how it came from the dealer.

What's the purpose of the red dot?

First, if the tire has a red dot, the yellow dot is ignored! The red dot is then lined up with either the “low point dimple” (on steel wheels) or next to the valve stem on alloy wheels.
