new model y available in the US
The New Model Y is now announced in the US and available for order with delivery in March.

At $60K without considering incentives, it's priced only about $2K more than the old one if you consider that it includes FSD ($8K), paint that normally costs extra with the other models ($1K) and the choice of white interior ($1K). It is also faster to 60mph (4.1s v 4.8s) and has a longer range (320mi v 311m).
It's being sold alongside the old one as a 4th model.

Rivian is doing the EV SUV/Truck game the best IMO. Very attractively styled vehicles that look just like their gas counterparts. Not odd soap bar body lines. Plus the Tesla interiors have always been hideous to me.

I think Tesla interior is spartan and I don't like that the Y and 3 are missing an instrument cluster equivalent. But otherwise, I think the seats are very comfy and overall it's quite an ergonomic design when it comes to phone chargers and touchscreen access.
It's a superior step forward from the old Model Y. I'll wait for the new Model Y performance to come out, or just purchase a Newer Model 3 Performance as my daily and keep the Acura.
I was one of those uninformed people on EV vehicles 3 years ago, especially Tesla's specific advanced technology a few years ago. To many untruths and opinions from people on the interwebs just looking for views for $$$. Until I test drove a Model 3 dual motor and then a Model Y performance in 2022, dang - the pick up is breathtaking rapid. Add almost zero maintenance, super tech that updates all the time, quiet, low center of gravity, fun to daily = ROI and fun factor are high. Tesla is the top shelf in the EV industry - everyone else is trying to catch up or will go out of business with losses. Lots of my friends have them that use to own petrol vehicles.
Charging at home 90% of the time is super inexpensive (.13 KW = $9.75 for 300 miles of use - vers $45 for the Acura RDX). No oil changes, diff fluid changes, engine filter changes or transmission fluid changes. Just for kicks - I'd encourage everyone to test drive one.

Even my 4 year old Acura RDX has taken a big beating in depreciation - with only 27k miles on it.

Best to buy a gently used one - one to two years old. Everything is deprecating like a falling rock these days, the insane times of the pandemic are far beyond up. Big discounts on new vehicles off MSRP are picking up fast, as sales slow drastically.

I was at the Honda dealer a few weeks ago for servicing and they gave me a trade-in value of $30k CAD for my 2019 with 50,000km on it. I paid $50k after taxes for it in July 2019 (it was a demo with 3500km on it) so I'm pleasantly surprised at what they offered me. For 5.5 years of use and only $20k of depreciation I think that's great.
It’s hard to make blanket statements given how much whiplash the economy has gone thru the past 5 years. I got offered $30k recently for my 2021 A-spec SHAWD with 43k miles. I bought it new for $39k in late 2020, so it’s been a crazy value for me.
