Another year of the same ILX?
Another year of the same ILX?
You got to be kidding me. I see the new threads for 2022 ILX accessories installations.
Where is the new compact design? The Civic is two gens ahead. I was thinking they were going to use the new hatchback platform from the Civic.
The new TLX is too big.
Can we also get SH-AWD and the upgraded ELS system?

To echo your point, there's really not much incentive for Acura to invest in a new ILX right now. ILX sales are doing remarkably well, especially considering that the sedan market has cratered. At it's peak, the Acura sold 20K ILX's back in 2013. Last year, even with the pandemic torpedoing sales early in the year, they still managed to sell 13K ILXs. They'd be better off using those resources on a subcompact CUV.
OP, I feel your pain. I've been wanting a compact SH-AWD sedan for a few years, and the TLX is way too big for me. Acura used to preview/release new models at the New York Auto Show, which is happening in August this year, so hopefully they'll at least show a prototype of the upcoming compact sedan.
At this point I think I'd prefer to go electric, but if I stay with petrol I'd like another Acura and an ILX equivalent with SH-AWD and the 2.0T would be great.
FWIW, I have driven the new TLX, and I thought it was excellent. That bodes well for a new compact sedan, provided it also has the double wishbone front suspension.

I recently got an RDX. I’m already debating on going back to a sedan. I was hoping by the end of year 1 or 2 of my lease the new compact will be out.
To have the whole lineup refreshed, but the ILX is crazy.
The Type-S MDX is almost out. I’ve already seen it on the road testing. Only thing left is the upcoming refresh of the RDX.
June sales just reported and ILX set a June sales record-2,093 which was also the best month in five years. So it continues to amaze with its popularity.
When the new model is introduced in 2022 as a 2023 it look like it will start with a relatively strong base.

Trending Topics
The glass half empty viewpoint is that Acura will just double-down on what made this car so popular; cheap price and good looks, everything else be damned.
Right is relatively cheap, but it’s outdated. For someone who is already invested in Acura its hard for the ILX to be a contender.
For us people that want an SI, but in automatic and a little bit more luxurious.
The new A3 is set to release soon. It has AWD and more tech. I would gladly pay a little bit more for an ILX for a nicer car.
Also with the new TLX taking out the base 2.4L this new compact has space to fill in the line up now.

Until we see the new model we can only speculate as to what features etc it will have. I would be quite surprised if Acura follows the same formula for the 2023 model. They have upgraded the TLX, MDX, and RDX already from their prior versions so why would they not follow suit with the ILX?
So this is what I’ve heard about the new Compact Sedan. About a month or so ago on a Video someone who works at Honda MFG. stated that the Compact sedan is going through the factory testing the shell with the robotic mechanics in the plant. It was stated that it was primarily doing the paint section and that no model has been fully built as of yet. That person stated that it looks really good and cannot wait till it gets revealed.
Based on that the vehicle is being tested in the factory to prepare for the market, I suspect that the reveal will be at the end of the year. I would say we would see it testing in the coming months.
As for the 2022 MY ILX. The model still sells well so I feel as though Acura might be selling the model along side the new compact sedan until they are done with it. Think how Jeep did it with the JK and JL Wrangler. I am patiently waiting until this model comes out as it’s going to be my first Acura ever.

To me, one question is whether a base FWD version will also have the 2.0T, or perhaps the 1.5T from the Civic Si. The current generation ILX has the engine from the 9th generation Civic Si, so there is precedent for the models sharing engines. I don't expect this though, because that would result in lower power and probably a CVT, so I'm betting on 2.0T across the board. If Acura decides to build a hybrid version, then I could see the 1.5T up front with electric motors powering the rears in an SH-AWD system. That would be cool.
I spoke with my dealer during a test drive of the TLX-S. He indicated that the 22 ILX will carryover directly from the 21 model. Supposedly, an Integra type compact sports sedan should break light for the 23 model year sometime next year.
Yep that’s the whole thing right now. Integra probably won’t be the name. They could come back with the RSX or TSX name but we don’t know. All we know is that they have them in the factory testing for the Tooling system. It was almost a month ago since we heard that and nothing else has been said.
Disappointing Integra
I think the price of 1st gen 2.4L ILX just went up after the debut of the new integra. I don't know how they got it so wrong. They did a great job with the TL that i had high hopes for the Integra.
I'm pretty sure the Integra is going to be much better than the old 1G ILX. 6MT, LSD, and it's based on the 11G Civic which is much better than the 9G-based ILX.
