Oh, duh. I forgot we were talking about CarPlay...

Does the silly thing "skip" with other sources? I guess I've never bothered to try.

I have Acura RDX 2020. Car software is the latest D.1.1.4 and my iPhone XS Max is on 12.4.1. After using Apple Music via CarPlay almost for two weeks, today September 11, 2019, I’ve heard again a beep noise and sound went completely out. Infotainment message displays “Check tuner” and “ Radio unavailable”. Also when I turn off the engine the infotainment screen still stays on. It’s exactly the same problem that I had with D.1.1.2. Not sure if IOS will fix this problem.

I think the infotainment screen stays on until you open the driver's door. It's a feature.

As for the "CheckTuner" issue, not sure if that's software or hardware. But I don't think you're alone.

Once the sounds turns off completely and “ Check tuner message “ displays, the infotainment screen stays on even after I open the door and exit Acura RDX 2020. I have this problem only when using any music application, Apple, Google play or YouTube Music. It happened in D.1.1.2 software and the same issue exists in D.1.1.4. I was at the dealership several times. They even replaced infotainment system control panel, but the issue is still there. I don’t have any problems as long as I am not using music application. Waze map, whatsapp, phone are working fine in CarPlay. I feel like there is not enough CPU or memory in the infotainment hardware.

Looks like CarPlay is starting to catch up with Android Auto. I have both in my other cars and Android is much superior to use and in overall functionality. It's good to see CarPlay is finally getting updated.

Just to let you know that acura has an new update which i had my dealer install last week to fix this issue.

After the latest Acura RDX update, I noticed a different beep noice behavior. Previously I used to see Radio Unavailable message, no sound and screen used to stay on even after car is turned off. Now after the software upgrade I heard the beep noise again when playing Apple Music and using Waze. This time no Radio Unavailable message. So after the beep noise screen goes to a blue screen with a message that Network unavailable .... and the infotainment system restarts automatically as I am driving. After the restart everything is working again. To me it means that the beep noice issue has not been resolved, Acura just found a work around by restarting the infotainment system.
