According to Acura, the curb weight of my 2020 Acura RDX Advance SH-AWD is 4068 lbs. https://hondanews.com/en-US/releases...tions-features

The GVWR on my sticker says 5027 lbs. However the other sticker says "The combined weight of occupants and cargo should never exceed 380kg or 838lbs.

Shouldn't my max payload weight be 5027 - 4068 = 959lbs? What happened to the remaining 121lbs?

 

Curb weight fudge factor……….121 would be just about the capacity of the fuel tank …………

Also Depending on who’s standards your using :It’s important to remember that the difference between your truck’s curb weight and GVWR isn’t a true representation of your vehicle’s payload rating. You have to account for the weight of your cargo
and the following items:

• Any passengers you’re going to be carrying
• The weight of the fuel in your truck’s gas or diesel fuel tank
• The weight of any accessories you’ve added to your truck (tonneau covers, toolboxes etc)
• The “Tongue Weight” of a trailer (if you’re towing…we’ll cover this concept in a moment)
