Looking for advice for a 2025 RDX purchase
I’m looking to buy a 2025 RDX A-Spec Advance and was hoping to get some tips on what is a good price or not before buying one.
The total amount they gave me was $68,500 and of course they threw in extra’s.
MSRP- $56,400
Tint/Door/Edge Guard $510
Nitrofil $195
Shadow Mark $395
Wheel Locks $95
Resistall $600
Doc Fee- $999.50
Service Agreement/Ext Warranty $4795
Plus State & Local taxes which is normal.
When I’m pricing it online the MSRP is $54,450 (2K less than what they’re trying to sell it at). KBB is also saying the fair purchase price is $53,406. So obviously there’s some wiggle room there.
Which one of the above would you remove or think can be negotiated to a lower price? Do you think the service agreement is really worth it?

I would say no to all of that extra. Start with MSRP (from Acura website) and start negotiating. For reference i got just over 10% off msrp on 2025 rdx in november of last year. This is depending on State but only additional expenses should be taxes, documentation fee and registration fee.

I agree I don’t need all the extra stuff and the only thing I priced extra from the site were the wheel locks and the all-season floor mats for $460.
Msrp on Acura website and at dealer were the same. You should be able to get minimum 3k off of msrp but I’d shoot for 5K. Check Acura website for any promotions that you may qualify. Don’t pay for any of that additional stuff. Don’t know where you at but shop multiple dealers if you have tham. I’m not a fun of dealers that add all those extra items to msrp, they are usually difficult to negotiate with.

You should be able to get the car without any of these
Tint/Door/Edge Guard $510
Nitrofil $195
Shadow Mark $395
Wheel Locks $95
Resistall $600
You should decline this
Service Agreement/Ext Warranty $4795
If you really want the warranty, you can wait till nearly out of factory warranty and buy it cheap for $1500-$2000 online from Hyannis or Curry. Get only the Acura plan, not some 3rd party one which my guess is what the dealer is selling. You don't need the service agreement.
You should do some research on what the doc fee is for your state
Doc Fee- $999.50
This is usually a fixed number by state, but that looks pretty high.

At a minimum, you can get $1000 off for loyalty/conquest (assuming you own of the brands mentioned).

But I would call around with a radius that you are willing to drive to buy the car and ask for quotes from the Internet Sales manager. Or you can check their websites and email the managers.

I hadn't heard of Key Acura, but looked them up and they are the former Prime Acura of North Hampton. Biz was sold in 2017. There was another Prime Acura dealer in Walpole but were sold, moved and are IRA Acura of Westwood today. Lots of dealerships being sold and renamed in the area.
We aren't in the market yet but will keep them (Key) in mind.

Yup - just seems more so more recently. Nucar has been buying a lot of dealers here in MA. One of the biggest recently is Herb Chambers sold 59 dealerships in MA/RI/CT to Asbury Automotive for over $1.3 billion. My understanding is he kept one MB dealer and will remain on as an advisor. Believe he is/was a top dealer in the country.

I called a couple out of state dealerships and told them exactly what I wanted and didn’t want on the car and found one that accepted the offer I had told them. The only thing I paid extra for was the wheel protection plan because I know at some point I’m going to scratch or scuff a rim or 2. 😄
