iOS 13.1 now available
I installed the official 13.1 last night. It fixes a bunch of bugs. Prior I have used iOS 13.1 beta 4 and it seems to be very stable with CarPlay. Others on this forum have been running iOS 13.1 betas too with CarPlay actually more stable.

Today I installed 13.1 and it made no improvement as far as Apple Carplay disconnecting. It happened to me numerous times today. And the lightning plug on my phone (which is a 6S plus) is the same one that works flawlessly with our CRV and my Chevy rental car a month ago. So I really doubt that’s the problem.
Yep. Did that. And progressed to a thin microfiber cloth moistened with alcohol and wrapped around a toothpick.
And in the last day I did the 3-finger reboot, and I restored factory defaults, and I bought a brand spanking new Apple branded lightning cable.
And the darn audio still skips in CarPlay.
What's next? Sacrifice a goat?

I am experiencing the same dropouts in carplay. I use Amazon and Tidal to play downloaded music from an iphone. The past two trips I have taken in the past 24 hours, besides the dropouts, is that I cannot skim thru a song by holding down the >> or backwards with <<. I should be able to hold it down to skim through the song, right? Just like playing off the USB? Anyone see this? How do other vehicles work?
So, this is an issue for me at least. Anyone else same issue?
Prior to reading this post, I never realized that scrubbing through a song was possible on ACP, so I tried it one the way home from work and holy crap, the fast forward and rewind functions work (using the touchpad, but not the left hand scroll wheel).

Buy or borrow a premium, high end fabric lightning cable. I found that to eliminate carplay cutouts that happened due to the car road vibrations when using the standard plastic cables. The premium cable I have has the AT&T globe logo on the connector. No guarantees, but it seemed to help me. The plastic cables seemed to work fine in the house when sitting on a table, but not in the car.
On my other question, can anyone hold down the >> in carplay and have the music advance thru the song like the USB interface does?
ios 13.1.2 has rendered my carplay useless. I think this is an apple issue. my phone charges, and it’s recognized as a USB device by the system. Let’s me play music, and give voice commands thru Siri. I have a XS Max 256gb.
Ok, funny story. Turns out carplay was disabled in the infotainment system. however, i didn’t disable it. And I’m the ONLY person who drives this car (2019 RDX)
Same old same old
My iPhone 6S+ is running the newest iPhone operating system 13.12 and still constantly disconnects with Apple CarPlay. I have noticed that the USB connector built into the center console seems a bit loose within the console. My USB cable (I have tried several) seems to fit tightly into the USB connector within the console, but the USB connector inside the console seems to have a bit of play within the console. If so many other people were not also having problems with CarPlay disconnecting, I would wonder if a loose connector is my problem, but I doubt you all have loose USB connectors in your consoles.
My iPhone XS Max downloaded beta 13.2 the other day and today I tried CarPlay in the RDX for the first time since that update. It worked flawlessly. No hang ups. Smooth as silk. I went from music to Apple Maps to Waze to Google Maps Satellite view and back and no hang ups or issues. Very smooth.
Not sure if it's the 13.2 or if I was just lucky.

On the 13.2 beta and mine still skips and has issues. Latest phone, latest software all around. Froze on the commute to work this morning in fact.
It's not the software. It's Acura's hardware. That is why none of the over-the-air software updates for the infotainment system have worked. carplay works by sending a video stream over the lightning/USB port to the heads up display. The CarPlay interface is literally a video stream coming from your iPhone (see:https://www.reddit.com/r/CarPlay/com...nder_the_hood/).
Unfortunately, the chipset used to decode the video in Acura's system is flawed and doesn't work properly. It messes up decoding the video stream and gets overwhelmed. There SHOULD be a recall, but it is going to be expensive to have EVERY RDX come in and replace. Given that it isn't something that will cause deaths (such as a brake/engine/safety issue) Honda/Acura will likely not deem it worth the cost. They will change the chip in a future re-design (the 2021 perhaps?) but leave the current models.

No, it's 13.2 (beta) and I am not having problems, but then again, my particular car has not had anywhere near the amount of issues others have had, so maybe I'm lucky. Right now my only Infotainment issue is the occasional screech during USB playback where the tune suddenly stops playing as the speakers let out a screech, and the display says 'File not supported' and goes onto the next tune without issue.
