Interior smell
Interior smell
Got this sweet smell in the interior, thinking it's coolant leak, I checked the radiator and coolant levels, they're all good. I checked the cabin filter and no smell there either. But when parked for a while and entering the vehicle theirs this chemical smell that's present kinda sweet smell , just looked at this at night with my LED service lighting but thinking it could be the heater core? I do smell it strong on the front passenger side. Anyone experience this before? Anyway to troubleshoot this further to isolate smell?
Do you smell it all the time for entire duration of the drive? Do you smell it only when starting out? Do you smell it only when starting out from all locations or only one specific location?
I am asking these questions to rule out the smell coming from the outside of the car. For a long time, I used to get the smell of smoke in the car when I first sat in it in the morning. Turns out in the winter the air quality around my house is pretty bad, this leaks into the garage and makes its way into the car. The solution was to force the recirc button on in the car's climate control before turning the car off.
