Initial Quality of RDX
Figured it would be helpful to see the initial quality on the RDX. Set up a poll to gauge how bad the issues are. I put three choices. No issues, issues that are annoying but haven't left you stranded (brake squealing, infotainment reboots, rattles, etc.), and issues that have left you stranded or required you to turn the car off and on again(transmission limp mode, infotainment won't turn off and ran the battery down to the point of needing a jump, etc.).

This is an EXCELLENT idea because it helps keep track of members who aren't having issues since those people are much less likely to post.

The only issue is a dash rattle I've isolated and the dealer will address next week. Otherwise--no issues.

Rattles (b-pillar and front dash; haven't bothered to fix them) and rear speaker issue (haven't had it checked either). I used to be very OCD about having things work perfectly, but now that I have a bunch of health issues, time is scarce and I don't want to take the car in unless absolutely necessary. I will have these looked at when I go in for the first service, although doing that requires making an appt and leaving the car for a day instead of just a quick in & out service with no appointment.
Car is in the body shop right now because someone backed into it in a parking lot. Minor damage but still needs to spend 4 days at the body shop.

1. Brake squealing Noise for 5 mins when the temperature under 40
2. The suspension scratching noise when run over a speed bump
3. USB music not playing the next song, got stuck in a song unless re-select from the music folder
no other issues.

I had the same issue with the repeating of music. Then discovered that after a recent phone update--for some unknown reason and it had never happened before--the phone switched to repeat instead of shuffle or straight play. Once changed--problem solved.

Break squealing is very common here.
I scheduled an appointment with the dealership i bought the car from on Saturday. I hope they can solve my problems.

Infotainment--sorry. The options are right on the screen.

Listing out the issues you are having is helpful. If people that have voted can post what their issue was maybe potential buyers will know whether they are willing to take the coin flip (based on the current near 50/50 results) on those minor issues vs a no issues vehicle.
Also, mentioning whether you would still purchase the RDX knowing about the minor issue and the assumption that Acura will not be able to fix it. Is it a deal breaker?

Thanks for advice.

Purchased a A-spec RDX last September. Other than occasional Infotainment issues the RDX A-spec is rock solid.

I have an issue with my front passenger window. When opening it up, the window opens a bit and then stops. You can hear the motor trying to move the window. But then you try to close the window, the motor tries to lift the window but then the window slips and drops its height a bit. Hit the "Up" button again and the same motor noise and the window drops down. After attempting to close the window several times, the motor will engage and close the window completely.

It will be interesting to see what the responses to the 2020 model year are. 50/50 doesn't seem too inspiring but hopefully Acura fixes all of the issues before the new model year is released.

- Brake noise that all people have..
- brake pedal that return to it position slowly when I release it (really annoying me)
- some plastic rattle noise when I drive, I found out that the steering wheel air bag cover (horn) is the source of my plastic rattle.
- had a door panel not clipped correctly, turn out that a wire was not running at the good place (assembly Quality control.... ?!?!?)
- some stitching on the steering wheel leather that are not well done, someone else here had the same issue. I don't bother with that but my car have it.
- info-system have crash 2 time since I have the car. 1 was a complete frozen screen, I even shut the car off and music keep playing even I was out. and the other problem happen once, music was stuck on SiriusXM event I try to change to FM or USB, nothing change.
I have 1000km on my car, I'm very satisfied with the overall and I keep thinking that my choice of this car is the best compare to other brand. I'm happy even If have have some problems and I know that I will do anything to have them fixed to my satisfaction.
No hesitation, I recommend that car.
Perfect world does not exist. It's like a women, even she is sexy, she have some problems that you find out later and you need to deal with it

Any updates? Looks like most of the "issues" have not been fixed by Acura after about a year. Would you still buy the RDX knowing the issues would not have been fixed a year later?

I'm a bit disappointed with the way Acura has (not) handled the whistling issue with my car. But I still think if I was in the same situation, a year ago, the Acura would still have been my best bet.

1. Jerky transmission. Has gotten better over time. It used to be a near deal-breaker. Now it's a minor annoyance. Still bugs me though.
2. Throttle hesitation after slowing. Not sure if this is a defect or universal/design.
3. Rattle in the passenger headrest. I figured out that i can push in the plastic connector and it fixes it for like a month at a time.
4. Soft brakes (but this appears to be by design?)
5. Infotainment issues that pretty much all got resolved on the first OTA update.
6. Front passenger door doesn't close as easily as the other doors. Will bring up at first oil change.
7. Steering wheel stitching (i wouldn't bother with this but it's been mentioned above, so i'll throw it in too). One of the stitched gaps is tighter than the other.

I have had 2 issues, The infotainment screen being stuck on the disclaimer page 4 times and a rattle from the back which turned out to be the rear seat latch and was fixed under warranty. Other than these issues, the car is a blast!

2019 Platinum Elite (Advanced SH-AWD) - minor issues
- throttle hesitation after braking at low to moderate speeds
- navigation turn direction out of sync on HUD (D.1.1.2)
- handsfree kick to open/close tailgate finicky
- keyless entry doesn't always work

The transmission issue is the worst, in my opinion. That hesitation slow roll to acceleration hesitation makes me nuts sometimes and is really the thing I most dislike about the RDX. I am trying hard to just deal with it because I got rid of the '15 TLX SH-AWD with the ZF9 I had over the same issues (harsh shifting and that damned hesitation).

2019 RDX Base FWD w/ 7k miles - few minor issues here and there
1. Brake Squeal - Awaiting for official recall
2. Random Infotainment problems - Pull Audio fuse #37 (15A) when system freezes
3. Suspension noise - Front struts replaced: noise reduced, but still there
4. Small paint defect - Fixed by dealership
5. Random transmission jerkiness (unusual)

- Camera system failure from Day 1. Fixed in first visit to the dealer.
- Rattle in dash right by the HUD. I don't think I can live with it and I shouldn't have to. We'll see in next visit.
- While I occasionally get the hesitation, more of a problem for me is the over-sensitivity of the throttle. It jumps from a standing start. I think both can be remedied by software, since everything is drive-by-wire.
- No major infotainment issues. An occasional glitch is all.
- Nav system sucks. That's just the way it is.
