Same thing happened to me yesterday! I was listening to Carplay music, all of a sudden a beep and the music stopped (and could not play again), and the apple/google maps popped up on the screen for some reason, then when i went to try to turn the radio on to test other audio i got the RADIO UNAVAILABLE message. Only thing that worked was turning the car off then on again.
