Car went haywire, please help!!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!

Just had something weird happen to my car.. It would not start this morning and I saw that the battery was dead.. I just had it inspected by the dealer and they did a 150 point inspection as well. They said there were no problems.

However, when I opened up my hood, everything had condensation on it. It did rain over here the past few days but it's rained harder and I never saw this problem (nor did I look for it). My wife's car was fine. My hood was closed as it made the sound when I hit the lever.

I jumpstarted the car and it started; so far so good, but is the condensation a problem? Hoping to hear good news and maybe I just left one of the interior lights on.

Thanks in advance folks and enjoy your day!!

Condensation shouldn't be a problem. Sounds like an ordinary dead battery.

Yeah, that's what I figured and was hoping to hear since the car has been fine since then. I must've left a light on. I just never looked for condensation before and my wife's car didn't have it so I just thought it was weird. Thanks for your help as always!

Its funny but I've been reading the Lexus forums a lot now and that car is just as, if not more so sensitive to low/dead batteries. There are a lot of posts relating to that and those cars seemingly eat batteries for lunch.

Batteries just don't seem to last as long as they use to and/or our modern, gizmo-filled cars burn them extremely fast.

I see similarly-themed posts there about their cars throwing weird notification lights, acting strange and service technicians clueless to the causes, but as soon as they check and replace the battery, everything goes back to normal.

Recondition the battery posts and cables with a battery terminal tool (male/female scrubber). Go easy lead is soft. Just scrub it so some new lead is showing.

thanks for the advice guys.. the car is doing fine now though the Nav is a little dim.. my guess is I might need a new battery..

Acura replaced my battery under warranty once.. I wonder if they would do it again if I said my screen was dim and that was the problem
