How do you like your dealer? (Service)
So far, not so good on my end. Bought the vehicle in another part of the state but tried several times get service from the local Acura dealer. They would not honor an appointment for an oil change they forgot to put on the schedule (I had a voicemail with the details), indicated the service would take 2 hours when scheduled at a later date (for an oil change?), and did not return a phone call regarding whether they had an OEM tire in stock when mine got a nail near the sidewall (not repairable).
My other vehicle is an Infiniti. That dealer often honors same day appointment requests, and offers a loaner every time I stop in if I don’t want to wait. Their oil changes only take a half hour, and they provide a complimentary wash and vacuum of the vehicle.
For a semi-premium brand, I would hope they could provide better service. I like the vehicle and all, but when the only local dealer can’t get it right, I’m shopping for another brand next time.

Acura dealerships can be very hit or miss. Unfortunately, it would appear that the minimum bar set by Acura for their franchised dealerships is quite low, so there are some pretty lousy Acura dealerships out there. My own personal experience have been more misses than hits as well for this brand, which was very disappointing to see.

Aside from my very first service when they gave me a rental, they have always given me an Acura loaner (either RDX or MDX). They seem to service the car OK, haven't had any problems. So I'd definitely recommend the service department.

I have to say my dealer has always been good to me and my car. They are only five miles from where I live. They are a smaller dealer so its easy to know most everyone there. I am greeted by name and treated like I am important to them. I hear others complain about their dealers and I can believe it as there are so many poor dealers with all car brands.

Acura of Honolulu has been very good from sales to parts to service.

I've dealt directly with 3 local Acura dealers here on Long Island:
- Smithtown, where I bought the car has been very courteous, professional and accommodating. Everything you would expect a luxury car dealership to be. Unfortunately, it's not the most conveniently located for me.
- Huntington has been okay in my limited experience but last week, when I brought the car in for a state inspection, they tried to sell me a wheel alignment. My Honda Pilot never needed a wheel alignment in 16 years.
- Bay Shore wasn't a very good sales experience. Salesman was new, uninitiated and unprofessional. Never went back.

Service has been good (Fisher) but dealership not convenient at about 1 hour away. Can work ok for me once we are back in offices since it is by a remote office that I visit every couple months. Sales mixed - Would not commit to prices over phone and really did not want to go in and negotiating during pandemic. Would own a new 2020 Hybrid MDX if sales was better, but ended up with used RDX 2021. So guess it worked out in the end.
Service was good due to 1. If had serviced somewhere else that saw warranty service need (on 2018 RDX) performed with no questions asked (didn't buy RDX there), 2. Always upfront on schedule and what will/won't be possible, and 3. Feel like goes the extra mile

I have dealt with three.
The one I bought it at, whose dealership network is well regarded and whose Honda service I use and have for many years, the one I bought it at sucks, and I won’t go back.
I use one when I am in Florida, Naples Acura, and I have been happy with them.
Since I moved six months ago, I have used the local dealer, and so far so good.

I had all my service done at Park Ave Acura in Maywood, NJ between 2016 and 2019.
They were consistently excellent with appointment availability, free loaners, and performance.
In 2020, I moved and now use Smail Acura in Greensburg, PA. They are awesome. I’ve gone there for maintenance, state inspection, fog light installation and tire changes.
I also bought my new RDX there and their sales department was also a pleasure to deal with.
I recommend them highly. They also have Honda, Mazda, Mercedes, Kia, Lincoln, and Ford dealerships in the same town with good reputations.

I've bought 2 Acura's in the last 12 years. The first was a MDX from Nalley Acura in Marietta, GA in 2009 and a 21 RDX Advance from Vandergriff in Arlington, TX. I've had great experiences from both dealers in service and in sales. The Vandergriff team is knowledgeable from top to bottom and I would highly recommend them.

First time purchase from my Ohio dealer and have found them very customer service oriented both in sales and service. My brother was traveling from Illinois to Ohio and needed warranty service on his RDX which was completed quickly and done well.

Everyone has said what I would have said about the variation between dealers. I'll just add that I would not trust any dealership (like the Infiniti place the OP mentioned) that does an oil change (presumably including checking everything else) and wash and vacuum in 30 minutes. I'd rather wait two hours for quality work.

I had my wife’s Accord in yesterday. While I was waiting at the service writers station, a worker popped the hood and filled the WW fluid, did a voltage check, looked at the coolant overflow bottle, and slapped on the four wheel alignment monitors (the Hunter machine is in the bay), and moved the car in to the service area.
So how much longer should an oil change and wash take? While the car is up, a walk around with a tire pressure and tread depth gauge can be done during the drain, and a reader can be plugged in to the OBD port.

I've leased 4 Acuras from Classic Acura in Beaumont, Texas. They have been great both and sales and service. Certainly, no complaints. If I require a loaner, I do have to book my appointment around availability of a loaner unit. My car is always washed when they finish servicing my car. I short, I'm happy.

I can’t say enough good things (so far) about Paragon Acura in Queens. I bought my car there after a bad experience with Acura of Brooklyn. Not only was the sales process much better at Paragon, the service has been excellent. They delivered the car to me and gave me a nice run-through, and when it was time for an oil change and in need of rear hatch alignment, they picked the car up and delivered it back. Keep in mind that while it’s only about 7 miles from me, that can be an hour and a half round trip in traffic.
I have friend who works at Honda who gave me the lowdown on their dealerships; there are definitely bad ones and great ones, and the great ones get awards and perks like NSX allotments. So if you want a good dealer experience, check for the ones that have awards and an NSX parked out front.

RDX ILX TSX
Our dealer in Portland provides excellent service and calls us to follow up no matter how minor the service. I take my TSX in for service and it's fun to see the service reps reaction to my "vintage" 2004 with 346,000 miles.
So we needed a new in-town beater car so we chose to lease a 2020 ILX A-Spec from them. Now we have our own Acura non-dealer parking lot for a driveway LOL

I use Burrard Acura here in Vancouver and have been pretty happy with the service. I was skeptical about using the dealer and was planning to use my private mechanic but have found the service team friendly, accommodating, and, most importantly, honest. They had one screw up where they washed my car and damaged my ceramic coating and I expected them to put up a fight to fix it but it was a breeze - they cut me a cheque for $1500 to get it redone by my detailer no questions asked. The parts desk was also really helpful - had a break-in on my car and the wheel lock was stolen and when I dropped by to get new locks they freed up someone to immediately put the new ones on even though the set - it's a small thing but very appreciated.
