front camera greyed out area on screen

can someone take a look at this image and see if there is an issue with the camera. the image is from the front camera, on the right side is a greyed out area and it looks like a video icon. Is this normal? nothing on this in the manual I could find. it was during a test drive just want to make sure it is not an issue also not sure what the black image at the top of the screen is

thanks

it looks like the image on the main screen is distorted at the top and the image on the secondary screen is ok. I only have a rear view cam on my RDX.

It’s normal. That’s the wide angle view from the front camera on the Advance model. It’s a “wrapped” view that’s why the black part at the top. There’s also a view where you can see all around too. Both views have the wasted space on the right side which is ridiculous.

OMG what a crap view!!! Even my Murano had a better front view camera image. Glad I have the Tech Pkg/A-Spec.

Take a close look at the front camera. I was drying mine off after a wash the other day and noticed there is a little plastic shroud around the camera creating the shape you see on the screen. I think it must be to shield the lens from sunlight that would create glare, but I'm pretty sure that's why it looks like that.

That's not normal. My front camera has full view with no shadows.

Sorry for the grainy picture. It was just snowing outside and there's salt and snow on the roads. I also have an external E-ZPass tag that you see mounted on the license plate.

I thought the same but toggled through the various front camera views, and the widest one has that same kinda parabolic cutout (really just the shroud in the field of view) at the top like the OP saw.

Yeah I just toggled through it. It's normal what the OP saw.
