We just purchased a new 2019 RDX Premium Elite and the VIN search on this site states that Factory Deep Tint is standard. The dealership told us that none of the windows come factory tinted and sold us a "Dealer Installed" tint package. Just wondering if anyone can confirm if this trim level included factory tint on the rear windows or not? Just in case it matters, this is a Canadian vehicle.

 

my a-spec in Minnesota came with the rear windows very tinted, but the front windows and windshield have no tint. I would say the rear windows are probably about 20-25% if I had to guess

 

Thanks but I need to know if the VIN search results are absolute in order to approach the dealer with providing untrue facts. We are supposed to pick up the car today.

As said rear windows and rear windshield are tinted only. And I'm in Canada.

 

All Sorted, there was a major miscommunication at the dealership with respect to the factory tint. They ended up throwing in the front side window tint they installed due to the miscommunication. Can't really understand how they thought we understood factory tint was provided when we stated we were only concerned about the back seat and did not need front seat tinting. Anyway it is resolved. Thanks to the VIN search tool or I would have assumed that we needed to buy the tint package.

yup. Typical dealership stuff. Either they don't know have enough knowledge or they lie about it.

 

Back windows are tinted. Even my 2003 CR-V had rear window tinting as standard.

 

Yea, usually just the bottom of the line Honda SUV's and Odyssey's won't be tinted in the rear.

 

Tinted rear and back seat windows make the cargo area a little less visible (not completely) and the side front windows not tinted may make night driving a little safer especially at stop signs. Pedestrians are more visible. I have no problem with the tinting design from the factory. Local and state jurisdictions have varying laws on the degree of tinting allowed on front windows to protect law enforcement from an unseen threat. I don't think Honda/Acura wants to get in the business of managing to local tinting codes. The dealers can provide tinting packages compliant with their local laws if they wish.

 

I am getting my front 2 windows tinted with 70% ceramic xpel XR plus. It blocks the most amount of heat and UV rays that the shop had.

I really don't like dark tint at all. I think it looks ugly. The most I've done in the past is 50% on all 7 windows.
