Is 'Smoke Tint' the factory tint?

I had a question couldn't find an answer. I am looking over my Acura Papers and see 'Tint' Option on the final documents as an addon however I thought all Acuras had tint on them (the very very light) tint due to the leather. Can anyone help me with this I know it may be late 9:30cst but for tommorrow I need to know so I can go blow up @ the dealership for not trying to contact me regarding the tint job they have yet to do.

My guess is that the "Tint" option you see on your papers is just a dealer option; i.e. that dealer hires 3rd party tinting people to do that.

The windows on the TSX have some kind of coating the resist UV or whatever else... it makes the windows a bit green-ish from certain angles. Some other manufactures' windows coating looks blue-ish.

Quoting the sales brochure under exterior features: "Heat-rejecting green-tinted glass". Is this what you are thinking? It seems to be standard on every car nowadays...

so should I calm down about over this tint addon I see? Am I in the wrong because no one even myself can tell there is anysort of tint on this car. It's just a waste that the tint is so much for something that doesn't even exist(maybe)on this car.

I wish that was available, and if it is, I want to know how. They use some process to do it, because its not removable. I think GM calls it Solar tint, and it's usually anywhere from 20-35%...always looks sharp. Wish we could get it on cars from the factory, that way I wouldn't have to worry about using Windex on the windows

Most film companies call this Charcoal Film. I install Madicco and normally when I match up the 2 front windows to the rest of a car "Charcoal" is usually the best match.

The stock tint (dark stuff in rear like on a suv) is just "Stained glass" and there is normally no heat or uv rejection. Minimal if any.

The stock tsk window comes with a very very very veryvery very very very light green tint. It barely looks different than nothing at all. I doesn't do much, if anything at all.

The state decides the % for you. If the dealer ship is paying for it, you're gonna get the legal %. Although you do get to choose the color....maybe...that depends on whether the tint shop the dealer uses has a variety of color to choose from.

Good luck though.

so there's no way to get "charcoal film" on our cars then?

seems like it'd be worth it even if it were more money, it never scratches!

Charcoal is a color, not a type of film. Pretty much every company makes a film named charcoal.
