Dashcam and LKAS Sensor Interference

I was at the dealership and they warned me not to place my dashcam right next to the rain sensor/lkas camera on the windshield due to signal interference. Also they said that if I ever get faults on those system, warranty will not cover them because of the location of the dashcam.

Does anyone know if this is true or any experiences?
Thank you!

Don't know but I would have thought that LKAS and blind spot monitoring is done by the side cameras.

that sounds like a bunch of BS, also If you did have an issue and you then removed the camera and the issue kept occurring then I would think it would be covered by the warrenty, to not cover you on the warrenty they have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that some mod or something you did caused the failure, also I have a dash camera right next to it with no problems, now I do not have any wireless built in my dash cam, that could maybe affect it? Who knows.

I will tell you my toll pass caused my LKAS to quit working completely. Caution/Warning on placement of DashCams, Sunpass, etc. anywhere near the factory lens. FACT: I stuck my toll pass behind my mirror on the windshield (so I couldn't see it). My LKAS quit working completely. It did NOT hide the camera view! The Dealer (Jenkins Acura) told me my camera was broken and it would cost me ~$2700 to replace/fix the system. BS. I googled the issue and yep, others have had the same problem. Removed the sticker and system works fine. Just sayin' to be aware that placing receivers or transmitters (passive or active) near the LKAS camera system could cause issues...

My front dashcam is right behind the rearview mirror and I haven't had any issues with the LKAS or any other vehicle electronics.

If you placed it outside of the vehicle in front of the cameras it would cause problems. That guy is an idiot and another reason you should trust dealers with your vehicle as little as possible.

I have it right under the box.
I have the dash cam there for 2 weeks now, and I haven’t had any errors so far.

Did you get a fault light on your dashboard, and did you have to go back to the dealership to have LKAS system reset after removing the toll pass?

well if you were under warranty he means they will have to pay $2700 to fix ha ha, I can see maybe devices that output wireless signals messing with it, I am not sure why tho, and the lane keep assist simply uses an image sensor, maybe there is some gyroscope in there also that it messes with, idk

I have a dashcam that's literally just wrapped over the current existing mirror. Works great, no issues with LKAS. That said, I just moved my E-ZPass next to the top left corner of the black box like thing that houses the cameras. I'll let you know if LKAS stops working.

I don't see how a passive receiver could ever impact anything unless again, you mounted it directly in front of the lens. Again, this is bs. Science and physics dictate it. I can see where a toll pass that transmits a signal might impact it, that is not passive and is a transmitter. Really in the end it doesn't matter. If you mount the camera and something starts acting up just simply move it.

BTW, I've also chosen that spot for my dash cam and also have no issues.
