LKAS and forward Collision Error

Hi all first post here and thanks to all for the informative info.

I took delivery of my SH-AWD Tech 2 weeks ago (Dec '14 build date) and have experienced intermittent error messages on the mid display for LKAS and Collision warning. No messages in the nav display only on the mid that says "there is an error with LKAS..." To no surprise the dealer is unable to replicate the problem. Has anyone on the forums experienced a similar issue? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I've cleaned the windshield so I know for a fact that isn't causing the issue. Can bare to leave my 2 week new car with the service tech to "test drive" any longer than it needs to be there.

strange. I'm guessing it has to do something with the LKAS camera....

Not exactly the same failure indication, but my it turned out that I had a bad camera from delivery. My dealer replaced it right away, and no problems since.

What was the error that you were receiving? The dealer mentioned that it could be a faulty camera but can't tell without replicating the error and getting a diagnostic from the code.

I wasn't getting an error message, but the LKAS was intermittent - most of the time not working at all. They got no error messages through the system, but took a camera from another car they had, and everything worked - so they ordered a new camera.

Is your LKAS working correctly?

My error indicators come on even though I don't have LKAS on or in use. This is really frustrating I've only put 200 miles on my car and now I need to go days without it. The dealership already called and said to come pick up the car as they aren't able to diagnose the issue. I suspect that it's probably a faulty camera connection, but don't think I can force the dealership to swap cameras at this point.

So the car is back in the with the dealership as I suspected. Error lights came on as soon as I drove the car a few blocks this morning after picking it up last night. The advisor now thinks it maybe a faulty camera but doesn't want to commit to changing it until they speak with Acura for guidance. Won't know for several days but will update as I hear back.

The frustration continues. On top of that I'm stuck with a 4 banger Base TLX as my loaner!

I had an I4 as a loaner as well. Take it out and thrash it around - it's amazingly a totally different car that the V6 - not better or worse, just different.

I had a choice of a V6 or an I4 TLX for a loaner and am kind of sad I opted for the V6. I should've tried the I4 out.

No option for me. The I4 is enjoyable but I wanted to see how a different V6 drove versus my car. I feel like I should have requested a later build car (build date on mine is Dec '14.)

Got a call from the dealer today and Acura recommended a camera change. Fingers crossed that this resolves the issue. Won't have my car back for a few more days as they have to order the camera. Will update after I get my car back.

Forgot to mention the other odd thing about the errors, it will disable the entire system, LKAS, collision warning and lane departure which make sense given it's all the same camera, but the odd thing and I pointed out to the service advisor was that the error only showed on the MID and never was shown on the nav screen.

Car is back with a replacement camera. Was surprised that they were able to calibrate in one day as I've read that is the most time intensive part of the install. LKAS and lane departure were working normally on the ride home. Hopefully this is the final resolution as this was Acura's guess at the remedy won't know for a few days of
normal driving though.

Woo! Glad everything got handled swiftly. Hope everything is fixed and you can get back to enjoying your TLX!

Is your LKAS working correctly?
I have exactly the same issue. Most of the time LKAS/LDW doesn't work. At some point I can usually get it to engage, this after turning the LKAS on/off, MAIN on/off, RDM on/off multiple times. I am trying to determine whether taking any of these actions helps, or whether it just take a certain amount of time after turning on car before it works. (talking 5-10 minutes before it would start working) I'd note that once it starts working, it seems to operate normally indefinitely.

Dealer took a look and first reported "normal operation". Then I had them have their Service Manager take it out and he reported "I cannot get it to work". They sent back to tech who again reported "Normal operation".

Anyway, car had been in the shop for a week for that and other things and I just wanted it back. I need to work on best way to replicate this and plan to have them drive along with me.

Bbast 07, was it difficult for them to swap the camera with one from another car to test out? I'd like to suggest that to my service people but wasn't sure if that was a big deal. (Do they have to align? I read that is a significant procedure)

Angry LKAS/Forward Collision Warning/Lane Departure

I purchased my new TLX on 7/7/15, 41 days ago. Since then, I have only had the vehicle in my possession for 9 days!!! My car continues to have the problems described in this forum and is back at the shop for the 3rd time. Two days after purchasing this vehicle, I began having these same notifications. I had to wait a week to get into the shop and by then, notifications were going off like crazy! (And just so you know, you can not disable the constant talking from AcuraLink.) Not only was it the 3 safety features giving errors but a multitude of errors. The camera was replaced the 1st time it went into the shop and 8 days later I pick up my car. I get the car back and 2 days later, same problems. Car goes back in the shop for another 11 days, dealership can't find any problem but takes the camera system apart and re-installs it. Keep in mind that the errors are in the computer and in the AcuraLink messages. I get the car back, and guess what? Two days later... towed back to the dealership for the same problems. Here it is today, 12 days later and I'm told I "may" get my car back tomorrow. This is the 3rd time in the shop, and they have now replaced the camera a 2nd time. If this doesn't fix it, Acura will be buying this car back from me under the Lemon Law. I love the car but am beyond frustrated with the problems!

Assuming that it is fixed correctly, and that they have given you an equivalent loaner vehicle, then you have gotten 1 free month of driving. This cut the mileage on your car, and delaying the next service. Yes, it would be much better to have your own car, but these things happen.

1st loaner was an equivalent, 2nd time I had to get a rental car that was not even close to an equivalent, and now the 3rd time I have an ILX with a crack completely across the windshield. I most definitely didn't buy a new car for car problems. My trade in was in pristine condition but I had seen the new TLX and just wanted one.
