Coolant Top-offs
Coolant Top-offs
Hi all,
Have any of you noticed any coolant loss on your RDX's? I currently have 21k miles on my 21' Aspec, and just noticed that my reservoir tank is bone dry. The radiator still has coolant in it (cold engine), but either I have a leak somewhere of my coolant is evaporating from the coolant reservoir tank.
Is this a common issue with the RDX? Do any of you have to top yours off often? I think I'll just swing by the dealer and have them top it off so I don't have to spend the money to buy a gallon of the coolant!

Some very small loss is normal. What is the drop in level and over what period of time?
google says that loss of 2-3oz per year is normal.

Is this the correct type of coolant for my 21' Aspec? I'd like to order some and have it to top off when necessary.

^^^You could do that but why not simply fill the reservoir tank up to the "MIN" / cold line while the engine is cold? Next time you take your RDX out for a ride, check the reservoir tank to see where it is in relation to the "MAX" / hot line when you park? Are you concerned that your coolant level is very low? You did mention you can see coolant in the radiator.
There are multiple ways to do it, but I wouldn't overthink it.
