Is it Christmas already!?

Wife was on her way to a dr appointment to only call me and say that her dashboard is lighting up like a Christmas tree. Some of the warnings we’ve seen before but were waiting to bring up to dealer when time came for 1st service. But along with ACC System malfunction and Collision mitigation system malfunction, the Transmission malfunction light was also on accompanied by a blinking gear “D” indicator and “see your dealer” message. She was on the highway at the time and continued driving but was freaked out thinking she was going to break down. 6 months and 4500 miles into ownership. While she didn’t lose power, she did say that the car felt sluggish after the lights came on, so I don’t think it went into the same type of limp mode that others have experienced when the car suddenly looses power upon strong acceleration. Fortunately the dealer was a few miles away so she was able to drop it off for a diagnosis. 🤷🏼‍♂️ We’ll see what they dig up tomorrow.

We had our RDX ACC malfunction, along with lane assistance and auto-braking system... took it to the dealer and they replaced the sensor system but came back on again within 2 weeks. Felt like they couldn’t figure out the problem... took about 2-3 days. They said the sensor were not calibrated correctly. It hasn’t come back on since...

thanks for this- I’m hoping they can address the first time.

I researched the blinking D and found this issue with other Acuras but with waaay more miles - signs point to a pressure sensor.

Update : nothing was found. According to the SA - just debris covering up the sensor... umm I call BS. The frustrating part is that we will have to waste our time taking it back again.

Might have been a silent recall. Sure, people claim they don't exist. Yea, and my tinfoil hat doesn't block the government from reading my thoughts. Psh!

Seriously tho, the debris covering the sensor does happen, but wouldn't cause the blinking D or the "see dealer" message. It's happened a couple times with me while driving thru snowy/slushy conditions. It just tells you there's an error with the system and some of the systems will not function due to the sensor being blocked. It was probably an ECU hardware issue that Acura knows about and it was fixed with a reflash by the dealer. They're advised to give you an answer that makes it seem reasonable so as to not call Honda's reliability into question. "Oh, just a blocked sensor? Haha, thank goodness. Acura's are so reliable!" Hopefully it was fixed, though you'll likely never know exactly what they did.

Every car brand has its issues. If you don't run into the issue again, it is what it is. If it becomes a recurring issue, hopefully your state has a Lemon Law. But, I'd bet good money you'll never see the issue again.

Just to keep documenting the issue, wanted to provide an update.
The car was driving fine for a few days after picking it up from the dealer. The paperwork said “clear DTC, no error codes present at this time”. The nav was updated to 1.5 version so I thought sure enough this was a “silent recall” and due to all the updates we won’t have problems again.WRONG. On a short non highway commute, wife gets the same light show as before. Here is the link to a video she was able to capture. Next step is to take it to another dealer an hour away and hope they can successfully diagnose it.
