Car wobbles
Car wobbles
Hello. Our 2020 Advance just passed 4 years of ownership and recently we've noticed the car has a disconnected feeling as if it wobbles around while driving. It doesn't feel as tight or buttoned down as it used to. It's hard to explain. Kind of like a floaty feeling in the suspension.
I haven't found any prior mentions in my forum search, but just wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar.
Thanks.

Thank you both for replying. We just passed 27,000 miles. Still on OEM Continental CrossContact LX Sport. No clanking or banging has been noticed so far, but I'll certainly pay closer attention to that.
It feels slightly better in Sport suspension, but yes still that disconnected feeling (compared to how it used to feel). It's hard to put a finger on it, but I would say the up/down motion still feels reasonable. What you feel is more of a side-to-side motion as you go down the road, kind of like jello-o jiggling. That's an exaggeration as it's much more subtle, but that's the type of motion. I might try riding in the back because this is just me sensing it from driving it. Maybe if I just ride in the back that can help me isolate it.
I'm hoping to slide under the car and take a look this weekend for anything obvious. Just from looking in the wheel wells I don't see anything that looks noticeable.
I do still plan to take it in sometime in the next few weeks, but I feel like it might be hard to figure out unless they find something damaged, disconnected or worn out during their inspection. Can't imagine what it could be after only 4 years. I had a 2007 RDX for over 15 years and the ride and handling were virtually the same on the last day of ownership as the first. Of course that was a simpler car, but that always did impress me how well it held up, and we've kept plenty of our cars 10+ years without any ride/handling issues that we noticed, so if there is something actually wrong this early that would be unusual.
Ultimately, as long as it's safe (and it doesn't feel dangerous at all) that's the important thing, but would be nice to get that sharper buttoned down feeling back. We'll see.

Very low miles for a 4 year old car! If you said you had 80-90k on it I was going to say perhaps a strut or two are wearing out on the early side. Perhaps control arm bushing are going, but thats a wild guess at this point,
Low miles on the tires, but tires are good for ~ 5 years. Maybe upgrading to a sportier tier with stiffer sidewalls would help if the OEM ones are getting weak.

I had a leaking rear shock at around 45k miles with my 2019 which had to be replaced. I also had lots of cracks in the tires (like rubber drying out) which prompted me to change the tires even though they still had tread. Together they improved the ride quite a bit.
