Best Tire Pressure for Performance, Ride, and Efficiency
Best Tire Pressure for Performance, Ride, and Efficiency
I've got a 2024 RDX Tech with 19 inch tires. The doorframe specifies 33psi all around. For my Honda Odyssey, which also specified 33psi, I used 36psi with pretty good results for wear and performance. What pressures have you found to be optimal for the RDX? Do you stick to the doorframe guidance or have you found another setting that gives you good wear, efficiency, ride, and handling performance?
Depends on the tire, weather and road conditions but I am usually around 35-36psi and I adjust from there. On a recent road trip with hot weather expected I dropped it a pound for a bit more cushion, with my winter wheels I tend to start at 36psi in my heated garage with the expectation that I'll drop to 33psi once I'm out and about.

Lots of valid opinions out there. Read and decide what sounds best for you!
I've a.ways been a fan of +2psi over door-card recommendations. For me, I have found this delivers better mpg, firmer ride, longer tire life. Got over 80K on my last set of Michelin's before I traded in my car that had them. Currently have 55k on CC2's on my Outback with plenty of tread left.

And try to take the reading and fill when the tires are cold, as they can gain up to 3 PSI as they heat up from both driving and outside temp. I rarely get the opportunity to fill while cold so with my TSX that is 33 I fill to 36 so when they are cold they are around 33-34.
Been using 39 psi for years on my RDX Aspec without the adaptive suspension. Ride is firm but not harsh, and I prefer a more sporty ride. Still compared to a BMW X3 m40i x drive I recently drove, my Acura is not as stiff.
You put in 39 PSI cold during summer in Texas heat ? So you ride around on 42 psi in the summer ?
