anyone else have a problem with the chrome trim on the sides of the shifter?

I have had several instances where I get blinded from sunlight being reflected off the chrome trim on the passenger side of console where the shifter/transmission buttons are located. The only way I can keep driving is to place my hand on that section until I make a turn, or the road turns, so that the reflection stops. See attached pic for the piece of trim I'm referring to. (Pic is a marked up stock pic, not my car.)

Has anyone else experienced this? What is your solution?

I wish there was an OEM option for a different color, but it looks like that trim is the same regardless of base, tech, A-spec or advance.

Based on personal experience, as well as the responses in this thread, I would say that the answer is no.

When the sun is at the right angle, I does give a bit of glare and I have found myself putting my hand over it for a bit.

It's not that bad, but it just seems like an oversight on the part of the designers.

Absolutely. I notice this all the time. I can't even keep the sunroof cover open since I get so much glare. Just commented to my wife about this two days ago.

I also had this issue. I like to keep the roof cover open because it feels so much bigger that way, so i decided to add additional tint to the roof. Problem solved. The only time I get significant reflection on the consul now is when it is coming from another source.

I have the same issue. I have a little microfiber cloth I use to clean the piano black plastic to cover the trim.

Random chrome bling everywhere is a new car trend. Not that chrome is, but it's used in weird spots these days.

Look at how much chrome/piano black was added for the 2016 Accord MMC that wasn't originally there for the 2013 release...

You should go to a car shop that does vinyl wrapping and see if they can vinyl wrap those pieces with piano black trim to match the piano black right next to it. It will prevent any glare and is totally reversible. It also won't look out of place or cheap if done properly.

I find that polarized sunglasses cut glare and the effect is readily reversible. YMMV

That's definitely another good option as well! Way simpler too!
