It looks like you'll have to go into the settings and turn it off:

settings > system > display > display off

I wish there was one button to turn it on and off.

yup, that would make an awesome shortcut for the home screen.

They should allow to turn off automatic screen dimming as well.

Would be a nice feature. Especially when it decides to flash or show the screens of death.

While I don't mind it on at night, for others.....if you follow these steps to turn the display off, how do you see (with the screen off) to follow the steps to turn it back on? Just wondering.

Merely hit the "HOME" button on the TOUCHPAD.

One good note": Once we repeatedly do the steps mentioned it becomes much easier to do, almost "automatically" - like typing.

While waiting for my wife at the eye doctor this morning I was scrolling thru the various settings and thought the very same thing. I had visions of a trip to the dealer if I'd accidentally clicked on it, it's good to know that the home button is our friend.

omg yes! Super annoying on dark overcast days and late in the day during dusk. Both for the main instrument cluster and the infotainment screen.

I had the 8 inch screen set fairly dim from a trip where I was doing some extended night driving. It never bothered me much before Android Auto was introduced and I was relying on my phone screen on a mount. Since AA, in the last two weeks the sudden dimming to the point of invisibility while using maps or music and yet still being bright outside can be very distracting and inconvenient. I've now reset the it to be a wee bit brighter in night mode.

Any button will turn the screen back on. Even pressing the touchpad down will turn the screen back on.

On the 2006-2014 Ridgeline, you could push the voice command button and say "display off". Does that work on the current RDX?
