The MMC 2022 RDX rear "A" emblem is a little updated like the new TLX where the inside is black. Would anyone be able to find out if the new emblem would come with the black piece or is that a separate part number?
Can't confirm, but it looks like with the black piece..? I saw a video on youtube of the MY22 with the "gloss black" badges already installed, and the A emblem was black on black with the plastic piece. I wonder in the black piece is removable?
Link for anyone wanting to see what the gloss black emblems look like for 2022 on a non PMC:
I added the black chrome "A" badge designed for the 2021 to my 2022. The black background is a thick sticker from what I can tell. I heated up the original "A" badge and the black sticker started to bubble when I took the "A" off; however, it was hidden by the new badge.
I just took the R from the type r and replaced the factory one on the back- it’s just a stick on emblem-super easy
i just need the Jdm red colored A emblem now
What method did you use to remove the Acura emblem? Would a bit of heat and some dental floss work well? I have ordered the black vinyl background piece for my 2020 so I assume the original Acura badge can be reattached if I'm careful enough? Does it require double sided tape or another adhesive? Thanks for your help!

I didn't use heat to warm it up but I think that should really help. I tried using dental floss but that didn't work as it'll rip constantly; you'll need some type of stronger string/thread. As long as you don't break the emblem, you can definitely reuse it after you reapply some 3M adhesive.

use a hairdryer - no need for a heat gun. just need to get the adhesive warm enough to soften and pull the emblem. I usually pull the corner w/floss and then you can get your nail under it and pull it off. The hairdryer should soften the adhesive enough and when there is pieces left, heat the thicker pieces w/the hairdryer again and roll it off. Any residue I remove w/alcohol or bug remover.
Just did this w/the side A-Spec emblems and worked like a charm.
Side note: if your car is coated, keep an eye on tape if you put painter tape for alignment. The green painters tape barely stuck to the surface of the car.
Gloss black A Emblem WITHOUT black vinyl backgroiinf
Finally got the dealer to put it on the way it should have been in the first place. I think the contrast looks a lot cleaner rather than the black on black when I first took delivery of the vehicle
