2019 RDX Ambient Lighting?
White LED's in the overhead console, driver and front passenger footwells, front door handles, and rear roof of my Advance.
I wish it also had lights for the front door map pockets and around the cupholders like the Ridgeline.

I'm surprised to hear it doesn't. I'll bet the Ridgeline and the Odyssey I was in have similar blue lighting. It looked really good.

The ambient lighting in the RDX is shit and barely qualifies as ambient lighting compared to some real set ups. The Audi Q5 lets you pick about 24 different colors AND you can pick a different color for the top and bottom ambient lighting and it's got light pipes in the door sills and dash board, cup holders...etc. Not a couple dinky LED's in the console and door handles.

you gotta look at the price difference between an Audi Q5 with the same features as an RDX, quite a difference. I would like the option to change the ambient lighting tho that would be sweet. I love the red lighting, it’s not super bright but that’s ok. They have ideas for the next few years or RDXs tho now. I want to be able to change the darn wallpaper color, I want red and not blue, that should be a simple thing to provide gosh darn it.

What about Volkswagen Tiguan? Similar price and offers that option. Its not a lot of cost to put in few more color LEDs since they are already wiring it to begin with. I just feel that they focused so much on reengineering the 3rd generation, alot of interior details are amissed.

A 14k ford focus gives you the option to choose 8 different ambient lighting options and has much more places lit too. This isn't about cost, this is about stupidity IMO. As per your comment on changing the screen background color, the irony is that the 1G RDX allowed that. Do they at least allow you to import in a photo background?
No photo backgrounds on the 2019 RDX, either.
My biggest disappointment during the first week with our RDX Advance was the ambient lighting. After seeing this Acura video describing the lighting in the TLX, I concluded we didn't have any.
The RDX's ambient lighting is barely perceptible.
I was just going to say that you can buy new Ford Fiesta SE's all day long for $12K that come with bright, eight-color ambient lighting. I inherited a 2016 Fiesta a couple of months ago that had it. Sadly, its engine and transmission were smoother and quieter than the 2019 RDX I had. I can't see myself buying another Ford (it's been almost 20 years since my last), but I have to admit the refinement and handling were impressive for its class. I'd certainly consider one over a Honda Fit.

Hopefully they will be able to fix it up. As per your Ford fiesta, Ford has really come a LONG way with their vehicles, I don't know that I'd drive a Ford but I'm not nearly as opposed to it anymore.

I think one thing people are forgetting about is if you put every single feature you can think of in a car the price is going to go up drastically they have to pick certain items to not add and decide what they can fit in the budget and still make a profit
I understand they can't put every feature in and that's ok. But there are certain features that really are no brainers. Like this and power-folding mirrors.
But it's a matter of cost-benefit analysis and things like ambient lighting are important in luxury cars. Mercedes cars have SIXTY FOUR (64) yes sixty four different color options for the ambient lighting. What would a handful of extra LED's really have cost them? Charge an extra $200-$300 and nobody would have noticed.

I think a bigger issue for me might be not being able to turn off the enhanced engine sound forced into the cabin. We all know that when any manufacturer decides how to package a vehicle, they make choices based upon what they feel will be competitive in the market place, and also provide their desired profit margin. If they miss the mark for too many buyers , their sales will suffer.
The current Gen CR-V has a standard moonroof in the USA, but Canada gets a pano roof. Yet the Canadian CR-V buyers miss out on a few other things that USA buyers get. How are these decisions made?
Acura and Honda pretty much make it simple... trim lines determine features. Most other brands are a maze of options and packages. Dizzying!...and more expensive to manufacture with so many different possibilities, and that translates to a higher purchase price for the consumer.
But you knew all this! LOL
I get what you're saying. I have no "need" either. I guess it just bugs me when my friends new Honda has things that the "Premium" Acura RDX does not. For example, he was showing me the wireless charger that's in his car, telling me how much I'll like it if I buy a Honda Passport (it also has a wireless charger). If I buy the RDX and he asks how I like the wireless charging, it'll feel odd to say "Oh, the Acura RDX doesn't have that feature."
