Exclamation HELP! 2015 MDX stuck in software update screen!

I was listening to a CD and went into the developer menu to find and disable the ANC module to compare the difference in sound. Anyway, I accidentally selected "Download Version" and it started to attempt the update the infotainment software I guess. I don't have an update disc so it gets to a screen to please check the disc and is stuck there. Turning the car off doesn't help, it just tries to update again. Disconnecting the battery doesn't seem to work either. I don't know what to do! Is there a way to cancel the update procedure? Do I have to call the dealer and play dumb?

In case someone else finds this thread, I was able to solve the problem by getting a 2018 map disc and installing it.

I second getakey. Too bad no one here had any insight. I guess my question is, did you stumble on the fix on your own, or did Acura service steer you in that direction? I find it strange that such a simple mistake as picking the wrong option would lead someone to have to do what you did. I know you said the battery disconnect was useless. But that too seems weird. I thought a battery disconnect was like a reboot?

To be fair, he was in a debug/diagnostics menu that is not intended for use by the end user. Many of us have played around in that menu -- including me -- but we have to accept responsibility for the results, when we do.

The people over at mdxers did their best to help. But at the end of the day I think I just got myself into a weirdly unique situation. I did buy the car used so I can't be sure what the previous owners may have done either.

I found the solution on my own. After I learned that the map discs contained software updates also I figured it was worth a shot. I was on the fence about buying an update anyway, but I was waiting for the $99 sale. Oh well.

I've been having issues with my navi and I did the same thing you did. My audio screen is now stuck on 'Program update started.' Then after a few minutes the navi screen changes to 'Please check your disc.'

Can you please let me know where you got the navi disk from?
