Will changing the door speakers affect ANC?
Will changing the door speakers affect ANC? I don't think it will but want to make sure. I intend to replace the speakers on all 4 doors. Also, what speakers have you guys used? I want to make sure there is enough space for the magnets of aftermarket speakers. Thanks!
So I changed the front speakers. Replaced the stock with JBL GTO629. Also used the Ai HSB524 spacer and Metra 72-7800 wire adapter. This ain't audiophile stuff - just trying to improve the sound and bass response. Everything fit perfectly without any alteration. Sound wise - much better i think. Highs are more distinct and bass response better as well. There's no replacement for a good sub. But this will do for now. I intend to do the rear doors this week with the same setup. I didn't remove the door panels completely since I couldn't figure out how to dismantle the door handle and cables from the panel. I just propped the panel on top of a cooler. I would like to remove the panels next time since I plan to add some Dynamat I have left over from my previous car. For now, all is good.
Ok....i changed the rear door speakers...sound is even better. The vehicle now feels full of sound and I can hear the instruments of the music I listen to. And the imaging is just SO SO much better. BUT...a BIG B-U-T! Bass is still lacking. I got good mid range now and slightly improved bass. Need more bass though. I will look in to adding a sub - but not any time soon. So for any of you folks interested in doing it - for a $300 dollar DIY speaker replacement, i think it's worth it. But you'll end up wanting more bass. Adios amigos!
