Steering Issue - New Rack Installed

I have a 2014 Acura MDX AWD SH-Tech. I had to have a new rack and pinion put in as a result of an accident.

Once the rack was installed it pulled really hard to the left...so thought it was an alignment issue. Had the car aligned and it still goes left. In fact, the mechanic said that when you start the car, it just turns the wheel all the way to the left.

I thought it might be the Lane Keeping Assist System, but that system needs turned on every time you want to use it.

Any ideas?

one other thing that I was told by a mechanic, is that this can happen when the power steering fluid lines are on backwards. I don't think the car has power steering fluid, so not sure what it could be.

Because it's Electronic, it may require some kind of computer initialization. Try calling Acura Customer Service and see what they say.

Is this the Acura dealership or the body shop, not able to center the steering alignment ?

It was the mechanic that wasn't able to get the car to go straight.

I should have made it more clear. It was a non-Acura mechanic. Next step is to take the car to the Acura dealership to get it looked at.

The installer needs to make it right whether they need to sublet the work to an Acura dealer. Shouldn't be at your expense. Or insurance should take care of the cost.
