Car shutting off issue but only after starting up
Hi Guys. Need some help.
Car: 2005 Honda Accord 4cyl 100k miles
Issue: Car turns off after full start up usually after being driven hour+. Typically when wheel is cut to pull out of parking space can you feel weakening and I have to give gas to keep it going as it hesitates.
Status of the car: Brand new spark plugs done 6 days ago. Battery and alternator less than a year old. Battery terminals look clean, no visible oxidation.
Pending item: air filter, and other recommendations
As stated if I'm doing a cold startup or just driving bumper to bumper, no hesitation. Only at that short period of time.

I would check IACV first.
Is the car automatic or MT? What happens if you give the car gas before turning the wheel in parking spaces?

Sounds like fuel related to me... Clogged injectors or something of the sort.. But a cleaning of the TB/IACV shouldn't hurt either.
Any issues with low idle?
Use some Berryman's B12 in gas tank and get the cleaner to clean your TB

Clean out or replace IACV, with 100k I'd just clean.
Could also be throttle position sensor and/or throttle body itself. Also clean off the MAP sensor.
Edit: Oh and if you just did the plugs, make sure you have all the coils seated and plugged in completely. Though not having that would be a misfire and should trigger the CEL...but still check it out. Also whenever you pull a coil, use some MAF sensor cleaner on the contacts to clean them up. Not required but good habit to have.
Also, if the injector was failing, you'd be getting misfires that would trigger a CEL and not stalling under load.
In modern times and using good gas, the fuel treatments are a placebo at best.

Agree with IACV. Sounds like the idle valve is sticking and isn't opening more to rev the engine up to compensate for power steering use. Does the same thing happen when you roll all the windows down at once?

I'll research how to clean IACV and see how that goes. Any tips on how to clean it? I have no experience with it? Thank you guys.

Give the Accord to your Ex as a form of Child support and you get a new car.
Win Win Win situation here. You get a new car, your paid your child support, and your Ex gets all the problems.

Yah but the feeling of knowing your Ex has to deal with your problem is priceless.

No issue with low idle unless turning.
The way this engine uses the cover the only way to tighten the bolts is if the coils are seated correctly. Really no room for error.

Make sure that the whole thing is very very dry before you reinstall, wait like 3 hours. You'll get a huge backfire and potential engine damage if you don't. Try not to use any brushes, soaking in carb cleaner and repeating will clean most of the gunk out.
I didn't watch this video but might be a place to start, look for others I'm sure they are easy to find:
