I was shocked today to hear that programming an MDX remote control by the Acura dealer costs $136 plus tax! It probably won’t take them more than a minute to so.
That is on top of the $230 for the remote...
Is the programming of it something that the end user can do?

 

I took my MDX remote to my local Honda dealer service dept. - with whom I had a prior relationship with - and they charged me $35.

 

What a racket for Springfield Acura.
FYI, I serviced my 2013 MDX there for many years.
A couple of weeks ago I was going to buy a 2019 MDX from them and had the worst experience you can imagine.
I ended up buying the car from Bill Vince Acura. They were all super professional!
How long did it take them your remote? Does it have remote start?
