MDX front door inner handle can open door under lock while driving
from Acura MDX owner's manual:
"The front door inner handles are designed to allow
front seat occupants to open the door in one motion.
However this feature requires that front seat
occupants never pull a front door inner handle while
the vehicle is in motion.“
seems it is to exit car faster or prevent lock failure during emergency.
any other car model design in same way?

If you're concerned, then let someone drives and you sit in the back with childlock ON. Every modern car that i know is like this!

I noticed the same thing too... I used to drive a 2004 Rav4 and 2008 Honda Civic, and with both, you cannot unlock the front doors with only the inner handle. I drove my friend's 2013 Lexus RX and if I remember it correctly, I was able to open the front door from the inside without unlocking the doors first. Must be a new safety feature? I don't know...

Pay no attention to that obnoxious idiot's reply.... To answer your question neither my Legacy nor wife's Explorer will unlock the doors by simply pulling on the handles. You have to unlock the doors by either pushing the unlock button or manually pulling on the lock stem/latch at which time you can then pull on the door handle to open the doors. Honestly, I would prefer to be able to unlock them and open the doors with just one motion of the door handle.

the front door includes passager side's front door, make sure your old enough kid doesn't open the door when car is moving.

2. Door is fairly heavy. Add in strong wind when driving on highway. Wind pushing door close.
3. Even if he manages to open door wide enough AND keep it open, there is still a little thing called SEAT BELTS!
4. Now if he or she manages to do all that AND unbuckle, then you must a bad guy for that person to want to jump out of a car moving at highway speed.
Seriously, this is mind blowing for me to have to explain this.

1. Why would he stupidly do that? Common sense. Otherwise, front door would have child proof lock too! Hell, my five year knows better!

Have you ever tried to open the door while driving on the highway?
In other words, i think that you have other things to worry about while driving than falling out of your car unintentionally...because you accidentally pull (hard) on the inner door handle.
Come on dude....
