Has anyone put 265/45/20 tires on the 8” wide rim
Hey guys, I have a 2020 MDX with the tech package so it had the 20” diameter wheels with a 8” wide rim. I hate the skinny 245 tires and was wondering if 265/45R20’s would work fine on these wheels. 1010tires recommended either 265/45R20’s or 265/50R20. If anyone has pics that would be great too. I plan to put Continental Conti4x4 all seasons on

Go to continentals website, look up the tires your interested in and you will find the min and max rim width. When I went shopping I could not find ANY mfg that listed an 8" rim for a 265/45 or 265/50. Since I wanted the Conti DWS-06 I went with a 255/45 which is listed for an 8" rim. the 255/45 is slightly smaller diameter than the stock tires so I get a few mph error at 60mph or so.

Widest you can go is 255/45, thats the setup I have on my 2018 Tech Hybrid. Also any 265 series tire is usually more expensive than a 245 or 255 width.
I'm still searching for a set of Aspec wheels but so far nobody wants to give them up

yup, us also. Currently I'm running Conti DWS-06 size 255/45-20. IMHO a better tire for overall handling than the stock tires. DWS-06 has been my favorite tire for many years and the DWS before that. Tread life suffers compared to factory tire and does have a bit more road noise, but overall for what we want in tires it fits the bill perfectly. Now if I had the 8.5" rims, then the 265/45 would be the choice. And yes, when I was checking the 265/45 DWS was substantially more expensive than the 255/45.

I'm another person that picks the Conti DWS 06 as my tires on my last 3 Acura's. Really disappointed my 8" rims can't take the 265/45/20 Conti tires (245 look too skinny on my MDX). I have 21,000 miles on my OEM tires and probably upgrade the rims to 8.5" and go with the 265 Conti when I'm due for tires.

So as one data point - I have a '19 Adv with the 265-45R20's (michelin) on the 8.5" wheels. If I compare those to either the stock 20" wheels/tires on my older '17 Tech, or even with the winter snow tires (245-65R17) on the Advance - the 265's are VERY sensitive to road conditions - specifically crowning or road slant. At first I thought it was the alignment being off, since the tires felt like they were hovering over the road. But an alignment check found it spot on, and the first time I put the winter wheels/tires on the '19 the behavior settled down similar to my '17 Tech. I'm not sure if it's the Michelins that come stock on the Advance - or simply the width of the wheel/tire setup. But while they do corner well, you do have to work a bit harder to keep it straight in normal driving. Just my $.02....
