My wheels and tires weighs in at 48 lbs each.

The tires are Potenza G 009's in a 235/45 HR17 and according to tirerack they weigh in at 25 lbs.

The tires only had a couple hundred miles on them when I weighed the wheels so I'd bet the wheel weighs 23-24 lbs.

Sorry but there is no way the stock 17" OEM rim and tire combo weighs that much! My 19" rims and a fairly heavy tire weigh in at 53lbs TOTAL. My aftermarket 17's with worn out tires came in at either 50lbs or 51lbs. At one time I thought my OEM's were over 50lbs but I later learned that my aftermarket 17's were heavier (by about a pound) than my OEM's

I just shipped my rims and tires to him. Each box weighed 55 lbs.

it was ok... one of the valve stems broke when driving and the rear tire got shreded. Good thing the rims didn't get damaged. I had to pay Acura 264.00 for a new tire and just go one normal black valve stem, they wanted over 100 for the new TPMS valve stem.

^^Sorry to hear that. Shouldn't they had covered under warranty? How old is yours?

Those came off in Oct and they set in my living room until I shipped them to you.

Must've been either some pretty heavy boxes or else some pretty heavy tires. I thought the original poster was seeking the "unsprung" weight on the car which of course would not include the weight of the box it was shipped in. My mistake.
