I did the same thing. Got rid of the TL and got a MDX. I have to say I really miss the sporty feeling of the TL but the Cadillac ride of the MDX is really nice. Plus the 3rd row is needed occasionally with my kids. Hopefully you enjoy it!

I was gonna get the new TLX but they delayed the production until August and no choice as I needed a car. So I went for the MDX. The more I drove the more it grows on me. So far I enjoy it a lot and very useful than my TL

Congrats on your new MDX.
You will definitely miss the performance and handling, as well as the pretty-looking custom RonJon body kit, for your 4G TL.
But on the plus side, you will get tons and tons of interior room, as well as all the high-tech features, on your new MDX.

Yes I do miss the TL but at least this is something where I can drive it everywhere. The pic my friend took we went off road so it really helps a lot.
Congrats on your new MDX.

I did the same thing as well. No TLX 6MT so I went with a MDX instead of the TLX. Swapped my 2012 TL 6MT last Tuesday (lease was up in November). Happy with my choice.
EDIT:
BTW... Congrats! How you liking it thus far?

I'm getting all my chrome trim/accents on the exterior wrapped in brushed titanium and the A and B pillars in brushed black. Planning on doing the whole SUV in satin black at a later time and the interior faux wood in brushed titanium

For now it is a DIYer that I made as the holder. I will be getting a new holder both for my current phone and for my iPhone 6.
Go to here Car Phone Holders and Dashboard Phone Mounts - ProClip USA
They carries holder and specific phone charger holder as well.

I too reluctantly left our 2013 TL for the MDX Advanced. (Never before have I sold a car after less than two years.)
The TL trunk, or lack of trunk space, was the most frustrating. The TL AWD is a super car and it looks smart. The new MDX features and practicality won us over.
If I had not been driving the TL for the last two years, I would say that the MDX is almost sporty in it drive.

I also traded in my 2012 TL tech for the 2014 MDX Tech SH-AWD. The MDX is a great ride and all but I SORELY miss my TL!!! I am strongly considering trading it in for the new TLX. I just got so caught up in the whole "I want a truck to sit higher and see better" attitude that I didn't really think about how much more fun the TL was to drive! I miss the agility involved with driving a sedan! So yeah, I guess I have a little buyer's remorse! Anyone else miss their sedan?

The small trunk of the TL was what made it immediately apparent to me that it (especially the SH-AWD) was a grown-up "fun" car. With the irregularly shaped trunk floor and the lack of a folding rear seat, this car a clearly not capable of full time family duty (and with the stiff bone-jarring ride) and is good mainly as a car for driving to work. You can't even fit two full size suit cases inside!
This is fine with me, but that's because we have an SUV and a minivan to supplement, so I really didn't need a 100% practical car. However, if this were my only car, I would say that Honda has clearly dropped the ball with the TL, being a big car on the outside and small inside, in many ways.

For me the trunk space in the TL was more than adequate. Then again I don't have a family to haul around in it either so yeah. For me the TL was quite spacious on the inside and I appreciated that. I will have to agree with you though that it seemed much larger on the outside than it was on the inside. It has a pretty odd looking exterior appearance in general IMHO. The TLX on the other hand is so well proportioned it's like comparable to the 3G TL and that very much appeals to me.

I did not take anything apart. I uses a few simple tools like a flat card, x acto knife and blades, hair dryer or heat gun, water spray bottle and towel. It is very simple to apply and take about half a day to do what I did.

hey raymond where did you install your dash cam, to the left or right of the rear view mirror when sitting in the car? I've had my dash cam for about a month and will be installing mine this weekend into my 2015 mdx. i want to make sure i don't block any of the oem radar/visual safety systems, it looks like it would go best on the left side of the mirror. any pictures of yours installed or when you did the installation?
did you take power from the mirror or run it all the way down the pillar to the fuse box? any tips you can provide? I'm installing a front/rear blacksys ch-100b, which is the same model i use in my TL right now. great dash cam!
i put one in mainly for insurance purposes and it makes my wife feel safer
