Finally Through! Accessorizing!

I bought a 2020 AWD Tech. Majestic Black Pearl, parchment interior.

i had the dealer add side molding, black roof rails and rear bumper protector. My ‘18 trade had Continental LX25s with <1000 miles, so the dealer swapped them onto the new X. Besides the overall tire rating increases, the tire has a blockier stance and looks better than the LX Sport. (To me)

I ordered the cross bars (Bernardi) and bought a black license plate frame (WeatherTech). And a small thing, door handle cup protector film (OEMAcuraParts).

Put the crossbars on yesterday. Done. Wife says done too. I do wish I could have justified the $1k for ceramic coating, but not now.

Very attractive vehicle...

Must be really ugly, no pictures😁
iMHO ceramic coatings seem really over priced. Since new (2 years) I have been using McGuires Advanced. So easy on/off its unreal. Best part, it does not leave one bit of discoloration on black plastic parts. And,leaves a long lasting tough shine.

Pictures? Nah. It’s not like we didn’t all marry twins. (Or more likely, I have no idea how to post a picture. 🙄....)

I will get the McGuires for sure. Your X black?

Wanted black, wife convinced me to go white/tan. Oh well, I guess as I get older black gets really hard to maintain. At least white looks decent even after a week of rainy weather.

I always add all weather mats, cargo mat, and cargo net as part as my standard upgrades. I always do window tint to help with southwestern sun.

You know, I forgot! The car came with all weather mats and I added a cargo mat and the FIRST mod was adding 30% (legal here) ceramic tint to my front windows. It’s hot here too!

from the dealership, the black car has a gold (color, not metallic) pinstripe. With the little Acura logo in front of the font doors. My immediate reaction was to remove it, especially as I was having the side moldings installed - but now I think I like the visual cue it offers the eye. And it matches the parchment interior.

Now that I’m thinking more about it, I’m understanding why my wife is suggesting I’m done.

Mud flaps, front and rear, all weather mats, and rear seat covers. With a BIG dof that goes with us all the time, that one thing was a god sent. Oh yea fog lights too.

So Donn0128. This on you.

Black car was super clean. Light, steady rain. Donn poked me about posting a picture. I didn’t have any. So I put on a hat and backed it out of the garage.

Wife: why were you taking pictures of your car in the rain:

Me: think of it like the model in the SI Swimsuit edition.

Wife: really, why?

Me: because I could. 🙄

ceramic coat it yourself! If you like how your paint looks and dont feel you need a correction(yes even new cars could be corrected) do it yourself. Im a huge Adams polishes fan. They have true ceramic coating (allegedly lastS 5 yrs ) which is easy to apply after watching a few videos. They also offer a ceramic spray coating (lasts 6 months) but is sooooooo easy to apply. I have done both numerous times on several cars. Either is worth it. The true cermic coating is just more
time cosuming to apply. But results are awesome.

We need pics. LOL.

Sure those accessories look nice.

I'm soon to be a professional detailer. Not sure how I feel about ceramic yet, but I'm not 100% sold on it. Maybe a bi-annual Fusso Soft 99 or something though

One issue I've had with my Fathom Blue Pearl MDX was rock strikes on the thin paint down to the grayish primer on the front of the hood above the headlights/grill. I had an appointment for a clear bra; but, it was almost two weeks out. I got the chips days apart and stopped driving the MDX until my clear bra appointment. Did the paint/chip repair thing; but, it looks kinda crappy under the clear bra for those spots (only I notice the imperfections).
