Fees question before closing deal

I plan to close this AWD base in San Jose Area. The fee is kinda high, is it? They said there is no extra fees, just DMW fees.

MSRP: 47500
SalePrice: 37,850
Cash Down 20,000
APR: 3.79 % @60months . I plan to pay off in a few months.
Tax: 3518
DMW fees: 336
Official Fees: 661 ???
Aftermkt/Due Bill: 99 ??? doc fee?

Is this legit? is there any other fees? Thanks

How much is a typical DMW fee in CA for a car this price? They keep saying $661 is a DMW fee and they can't remove it.

I don't see a doc fee spelled out on this purchase info. That leads me to believe that amount represents that fee. Is it too high is always the question. Some guidelines are available, as indicated by the link below. Dealers pretty much do their own thing and I have never bought a car where I was able to get it totally removed. I have been able to get it lowered after walking away and having the dealer call me back. Good luck!

That's their cash in pocket for any car sale. Covers advertising, pens, paper, internet, coffee and snacks in the waiting room, etc.

Isnt that what the dealer holdback is for?

Holdback is dealer profit from the manufacturer. Doc fees are dealer profit from you. IMO, they like to keep both pretty vague and also don't move much. I usually question it and always get similar stories. Usually doc fees are flat rate "cost of doing business with Big Bob's Try-n-Save Autoporium".

If you don't know what it is, you can question it until you understand or walk away.

Their DMW fees and tax are different than what are shown on DMW. It looks like their calculator needs a tune up. The delta is not a lot, but why? They said I can take it or leave it. Maybe I will wait after July 6 to see if Acura gives a bigger Loyalty discount, currently $2k.

They are not willing to give the price breakdown. And refused to provide a printout of the alignment when the car pulls on highway.

Unless you are buying something that can't be had at a later time, from maybe another dealer, at or near that same price, you said it . . . .leave it. Just be prepared for multiple calls from them to come back! The old what can we do to earn your business calls!

Wall away dude. Just tell them, every time you call me and want my business, the discounts become karger.

We ended up buying 3 MDXs for family and friends for the same price with All season matts included from another dealer nearby. Acura of Serramonte just lost 3 sales. The salesman was friendly, but the manager acted like he's NOT working on commission, so didn't care.
