I'm just wondering if anyone has installed the Remote Start themselves and how difficult it would be?

Looks like a very quick and simple install.

^^^^^

Except that you'll need the Honda Diagnostic tool to register the remote starter module.

It does not matter if the parts are installable, that is the least of the labor. A single individual cannot and should not do it, as the largest portion of work is reprogramming the vehicle's computer system, testing, and setting up. This can only be done at the dealer, and if anyone is going to install, it makes absolutely no sense to waste time installing only to then try to find a dealer willing to program the vehicle you just worked on.

Let the dealer do it, and be done. Very simple process.

It will cost something regardless because of the programming that has to be done to make the system work. Spend 1-2 hours digging around your new $50k SUV to plug a system in, then leave it halfway to get to the dealer and sit there for programming that takes time.

The new remote start system is so well priced and well designed, just let the dealer do the whole thing. Saving $20 and spending twice the time and effort trying to do half yourself doesn't add up for an electronic item that the programming for is more work.

Great system. We hope to see this same remote start system on all models moving forward.

said like a

Dealer!! Most this stuff can be done by your self or a good aftermarket shop for 100.00s less. This guy is dealer only guy... BUT FOR example: I was charged near $150.00 for labor to put a bulb into the headlight.(Rl) I went online found it only would take them 10 mins to do and the job was simple. Next time I did it for just the cost of the bulb and dirty hands.. Yes, there's things the tech only should do but some things are a ripoff and Acura comes out stealing from the customer. Another example: cabin air filter over $90.00 for dealer to do. Found out takes less than 2-3 mins to do yourself. Again some things the dealer tech should do but not every little thing. Auto start let dealer do on your new Acura.....
