Newbie question. I recently purchased a 2014 MDX tech. I ordered the Advance running boards and ordered them online. I have had trouble installing it because the bolts did not fit the thread. There was some rust build up on the threads and just assumed that was the issue. I have been trying all kinds of rust breaking sprays without any luck. I had trouble even getting the bolt in and turning it once. Yesterday, I looked at the part number and double checked. I ordered 08L33-TZ5-200 which fits a 2014 MDX, but I just realized they sent 08L33-TZ5-201. See this link, it says 201 only fits an 2016 MDX. Advance Running Boards | Genuine Acura | 08L33-TZ5-201

I contacted the seller (not Curry, I am just using their link because it shows which MDX it fits). They are telling me it is the same and should fit. I can't even get the bolt to turn in any of the threads. Am I crazy or is the seller full of it?

 

Try reaching out to Acura parts department to see if they can confirm what the seller is stating.

 

I brought my MDX to the dealer today for service and asked them to also install the running boards. They were able to do so without any problems. I can confirm that 08L33-TZ5-200 and 08L33-TZ5-201 are the same exact part, just as the seller indicated. I think it is fair to say that I have absolutely no mechanical skills.
