2018 Trans Fluid Service
I have a 2018 with around 25k on it, and am approaching my next oil change (30%). I do my own oil & diff fluid changes, air filter changes, and rotate my tires as per the maintenance minder, so no issues there. However, I do not want to do the trans fluid service, and will need to schedule that with my local dealer. I am wondering if it will come up when the next maintenance minder comes up. Normal driving conditions, nothing extreme (heat, load, or enthusiasm). Any idea what the trans service interval is, I'm thinking maybe close to 30k?

I've always seen my 1st trans service code at around 30,000 miles with my last 3 Acura (06 TSX, 08 RDX, & 11 MDX). I only have 25,000 miles between both of my 18 RLX and19 MDX. The price for the trans service can be +$100 for 1X or +$300 for the 3X. You have to ask the dealership if they do the 1X or 3X. My dealership does the 1X trans service and I will probably request the more expensive 3X service when my 7DCT is due.

mind came up at around 50k miles and I am in Denver area with snow and mountains. I did it myself, just measured what I took out and put in the exact amount. I don't trust the tech to use the correct oil or volume.

Recommended is 30k but I did my trans and diff at 45k. The trans fluid looked like it would last another 5-10k and the diff fluid was clean as it was from the factory. Been changing my trans fluid for all of my cars at the 50k with no issues.

Just took my car in for a B1 service. I asked the service advisor about this, he told me the car will tell you when it needs to change the fluid usually around 50-60k.

Burning Brakes
2014 MDX Tech/SH-AWD Maintenance
On my 2014 MDX, first Transmission fluid change came-up at 30k miles. Back then, there was also a TSB and tranny firmware-upgrade. Power-Steering firmware upgrade also. This was one of the first 3G off the line.
Sold it after 6 years with 43k miles on it. Transmission fluid was already "dirty" again and would have been changed again at 45k, and I was thinking every 15k from then on. Definitely, more often than the MDX threw a code for.
SH-AWD Differentials have there own codes. They pop-up early the first time due to "break-in" fluid being installed initially (or so I was told). My notes say it was done at 15k, and then every 30k was planned.
The Earth-Dreams 290hp V6 : always changed oil when MDX said to (or a bit early). While perfectly full soon after oil change ... by the time it was due again ... it always had lost 0.5-1.0 quarts. They said it was normal due to thin 0-weight oil. I was never sure it oil was breaking-down, burning-up, or was it oil-dilution ? Engine ran fine.
Only dealer serviced.
Oil change, air filters, and tires rotated/balanced every summer. (was like $100 and free loaner). IIRC, this was "B1"
Had the brake-fluid flushed and changed at least once (both my Honda and Acura dealers recommend doing it every 15k-30k ... even without full brake-job, so I let them)
One new battery after 3 years (this is hot Texas).
NAV upgrades were common (Maps DVD flashed the main computer's firmware also)
Oil-Sensor went-out around 35k miles, (but it just went into "limp-along" mode and did not strand-us). We payed less than $200. Only un-expected repair, IIRC.
Sold it with original brakes and tires.
That's all the major stuff I see in the notes. Hope that helps.
I always drove it on Sport/Performance (or the best one). I tended to race it around a bit and was know to use the paddle shifters sometimes.
Neither one of us was afraid to rev the engine a bit.
Never had a major problem with engine or tranny or anything major really. Good SUV.

I just took mine in for a B1 service at 41650 miles. The 3 code (transmission fluid change) never came up, but from what I've heard from everyone (dealership and few Honda techs) when I asked how frequent should the fluid be changed they said between every 30k miles to 40k miles. Acura recommended a flush(which is a huge no-no for me since I religiously do a D&F), in which I took it to Honda for a D&F. Car still shifts harsh so going to have the TSB 20-011 taken care of pretty soon.
