I need some help.

I have a 2018 MDX and recent put on some new winter tires with new after market TPMS sensors installed. The tire shop that installed them has tried several times to get these working. All 4 sensors work for about 10 minutes then I get a TPMS system error and all four wheels show "--". The tire shop has run their diagnostic tool and found that that front right side tire is not being registered in the vehicle. All of the other 3 are working. The tire shop tried to swap out the front right sensor and the vehicle is still not registering the sensor.

After going to Acura service department, they tell that these sensors will never work because they are not Acura sensors yet the tire shop tells me they have installed many of these sensors on other new Acuras.
Do anyone have any idea what could be going on here?

I've never tried aftermarket TPMS sensors largely because you can get the Acura OEM ones for under $30 each thru online parts sites. I do know my local tire shop does get aftermarket ones and they tell me it's hit-or-miss in terms of whether the car detects them automatically or whether their tool needs to activate them. What's interesting is that two sensors with the exact same frequency can have varying behaviors. I don't know much more than that. If it were me I'd opt for getting 4 OEM sensors and replace them and just move forward....

I bought mine from Andy's advise last year. Ebay is slightly cheaper, i saw a few auction for 4 around $70 new. The battery is suppose to last 5-10 years, I would email sellers to give you a manufacture date.. it is printed on tpms itself.

yes you'll have to have them remount the tires to replace them.
