2017 MDX MMC Gen 3.5

Some have requested me to render the MDX with the APC grill. I got carried away.

Acura can't seem to decide on a grill type? Acura finally got the dimension just right on the 14-16 MDX and they might change it again. I kinda like the ILX or RDX slight mod on the shield design on the MDX.

The all new design might take some more front bumper reconfig to get the proportions just right.

Anything is better than this stupid beak they put on all their cars.

I know I am alone. But I LOVE the grill on the 2007-2009 mdx. I still like it today. I wish they kept it. In truth, they NEED to get edgier. Generic japanese design won't cut it anymore.

I don't mean sharp as in lexus (can you say body shop nightmare), I mean sharp like the germans. Strong shoulder lines, crisp creases. Sharp grills. The beak has to go. It is too plain.

Like off topic here, but mitsubishi had an amazing grill with the trapazoidal grill, they took it away and gave us the ugliest grill I have ever seen. Acura needs some sharp grill. I like the concepts.

Like the "beak" on the older cars

I like the beak on the earlier MDX models like the 2010-2013. it gives it a more agressive look.

I saw another concept inspired vehicle with the new grill of an artist rendering of the (possible) 2018 ILX. I would really like to see the front and rear to see how well the grill works with the overall design. I don't mind the new "sporty" look; Acura just needs to put more sport into its products as an option (sport+ setting, more HP, larger front/rear stabilizer bars, sport springs/coil-overs suspension, dual exhaust, etc...).

This is very, very much what you will see this summer with the 2017. Nose is almost dead on, in your render.

Take that, add a few more small chrome details, LED light pipes in with the jewel eye, and very similar to the Precision concept new rear bumper and you'll have it.

Looks good!

Awesome. It really seems like they're reverting on a bunch of the 2014-2016 design decisions now. More sport, but hopefully not less luxury.

X2 I think they realized that before they had serious x5 competition. They want to go back there!

No shift knob. Wrong info.

Push buttons are staying, as is for the most part every bit of the interior as you see it now in a 2016. Nothing new there, but a new seating option for the middle row on select models.

That's most likely the overseas Chinese version which already has clear indicators.

Thanks! Can you also sketch me the MDX's new front bumper?

Oh and do you know anything about the infotainment changes? Any hope of carplay/android auto?

I actually prefer our all red ones... Honda always changes those signals with the refresh (like red to orange on most of the older cars) and I never like the change.
