2014 Front Seat Comfort?

Hi Everyone, Thinking of purchasing a used 2014 MDX and a biggie for us is the front seat comfort on long hauls. Had a Murano and got rid of it because every 100 milesI had to stop to stretch and walk off numbness. It was due to the bottom cushion being too short. We are going to be taking quite a few long distance road trips and front seat comfort will have to be a top priority. Not spending 4.5K on a vehicle with subpar seats.

So, if anyone has opinions pro or con it would be highly appreciated. Also we have gotten up in age and would like a nice width as well. Had a 05 TL and loved it but getting in and out and the seats just got too small.

Thanks in advance for any opinions good or bad.

I have to say, the seats are some of the most comfortable that I've sat in in a vehicle. They have good enough support without being too stiff and sporty so you won't slide around in your seat but you won't feel too stuffed in (like you do in some of the sport seats in cars like the Corvette or the deep bucket seats for sports cars). I have taken the MDX on drives from NJ to Boston and down to DC (about 3.5 hrs to DC and 4.5 hrs to Mass.) and the seats have been great.

Just for your comparison... I'm 6 ft 2 in tall and about 295 lbs. so I'm not a skinny guy by any means.

Hope this helps you! You can't go wrong with the MDX, I may be biased but I think it's an awesome vehicle and you can't beat the value for the money you'll pay (compared to a similarly optioned MB ML350, BMW X5 or Audi Q7, the Acura MDX is probably 15K or more cheaper)

It is a very subjective topic. You can only know for yourself if the seats will be comfortable to you. I think it was the editor of Edmunds who said that the driver seat sucks in their long term review. After reading it, I really don't get what he was talking about. I find the seats very comfortable in long driving. The cushions are perfect for me. Not too stiff and not too cushy. The side bolster is just enough for me, fits my body perfectly. It does not intrude with my sides. I sat on a Lexus RX350 F sport and find it very uncomfortable and small. I won't last 3 hours riding on those seats.

Good luck and I hope you find the MDX comfortable for you.

The 3G MDX front seats are big, wide, and supportive; and are adequate for long haul driving trips.

The seats remind me of my 2001 BMW 330CI with the sport seats, VERY comfortable. I've driven 17 hrs straight in that car minus gas breaks with no discomfort. I haven't driven the MDX on long hauls yet but I'm sure they'll treat me fine.

I have a bad back. I just drove 375 miles up to Pismo Beach, Ca. Took about
6 hours and got out and my back felt great! You can turn on the seat heater to warm the back but I did not have to do that! 2015 MDX SH-AWD, Advanced. so the seats are vented!

I find the left bolster section of the bottom cushion is a bit uncomfortable (6'3/225#.) I have to remove my wallet from my back pocket where I don't in any of my other vehicles.

I've only got 5K miles on my 14'. A holiday trip to Key Largo from Mi will provide some additional testing.

I'm a large guy (6'1"/285#) and I find the seats pretty decent. I've traveled over 4 hours no stop without a problem. If you like road trips, try to find an advance with adaptive cruise control. That helps a lot in the comfort.

I'm 6'4" and about 250 and have no problem with comfort in all the seats except the 3rd row which I can't even get in. There is plenty of room in the driver seat for me.
