What is this Loud Click noise when turning on ignition?
Hi all,
I have 2013 Acura TSX 5MT at 17700 miles...
I will call Acura today later on but before, I want to know if anyone had the experience the same...
In the morning, when I tried to turn on the ignition, it started but make one big loud click noise... I drove around to do an errand and it started okay.. .
does this mean there is something wrong with the battery or perhaps transmission?
All I did prior was to put on the handbrake and just did car wash a day before and I have not done anything stupid in regards to spraying engine bay or anything like that...
I mean, the car is practically new...
thanks

I'm confused by your facts .. was the noise from cranking the ignition .. or by putting the car into motion?
If by putting it into D or R: the clunk is from the brake pads and rotor welding itself together from the wash/dry. I get it all the time when I wash my car and don't move it for awhile.

There could be a loud click when you hit the Start point of turning the key, as the solenoid pulls in for the starter. I have never noticed mine, maybe yours is acting up. You should hear it right before the starter starts turning.
Sorta the click of a REALLY dead battery, not even enough to spin the starter.
If it is before you hit Start, or after the Starter is turning, this is not the right answer.

and oh, i just came back from 300 miles trip back and i haven't had any problems or any weird causes...
I think there was minor mechanical issue... i'll update soon cause I am at only 20% for the next oil change.
