Roof moldnig coming off?

Today I noticed that my roof molding(black rubber that runs along lenght of roof) was hafe way off. I put it back on but did anyone have this problem? I am afride that this can happen again as I'am driving and I can loose this molding. Anyone?

yep happens all the time when you go through the car wash its the blow dryer that pushes it out. Dealers tried everything can't get it o stick some guy did it though search the forums a bit more there is a thread about a guy who bought some wire and wrapped around that metal post the bracket holds on to and got some permanent glue or some shit and forced it on and hasn't moved since

Don't use wire.

My wife's car had the windshield moulding problem and it was going to take a week before the dealer could look at it. All I did was use some silicone and it was tight a as a nuns back door. Sorry ahead of time if I've offended anyone with the nuns back door comment. I'm french Catholic so I can get away with it.

Anyway use silicone on the pin and then slide the roof moulding back on. Make sure the weather is nice when you do it or it won't cure. Use the clear bath and shower stuff.

I won't do it because I remove them now and then to clean the track.

Yes it happened to me and it made me mad beyond pissed the car wash didn't find it till they did a "pit clean out" and they called me but my dad had already ordered a new one it came out and it was slapping the crap out of my car and left a few little minor scratches that seem to have faded after a few days

There is a service bulletin to fix this for free. Also not wire - teflon tape. But the SB is free.

Yep, I have this same problem, went to my dealer after they ordered the part, went back, and got a new one installed for free.

Same here. My dealer owns a brushless car wash so I they gave me a code to get a free weekly car wash. I only had the car for about 2 weeks and was already hesitant to use the service, but I was in a rush and decided to do it. The molding came out during the wash and I was freaking out at the sound. Pulled back the interior moon roof visor and saw the molding thrashing around. Of course, my gut is churning now as all I can do is just wait it out and hope for the best. Finally got out, check around and was fortunate that the metal spring end didn't scratch the exterior. Dealer ordered a new part and installed it for free. But boy, that was such a scare.

Roof molding

I received a letter from Acura saying there can be a potential problem with roof molding and it can be replaced free of cost. Took my vehicle to the dealer and it was replaced easily. No hassle. People with acura tsx 09/10 shud b getting notifications from Acura regarding this.
