I'm new to the forum. I have recently purchased a 6MT TSX 2010. When I picked up the vehicle, I noticed that on the upper grille, there was a mark that looks like a stone has hit it and it started to peel off. I'm thinking of either vinyl wrapping it in CF or just plasti-dipping it.
I would prefer plasti-dipping because it's something I can do on my own and it's not going to be costly. However, I'm wondering if the mark would show even after 5 or so layers. Do I have to sand it off completely before painting?
Also, the stone also knocked off my passenger-side fog lamp. I have purchased a replacement fog and waiting for LED light to arrive so I can replace both together. Do I have to remove the bumper in order to replace the lamp housing, or can I simply access it from the ground up?
Sorry, I came so late to this post, but Plasti Dip is a one-joke comedian. I messed with it for a while and gave the whole kit away to a kid to use on his bicycle. Even with the clear overcoat, it was lame and vulnerable to someone staring at it too long. Faux CF in the form of sheet vinyl is not too bad but it still looks fake, even the ones with a bit of texture. Still, vinyl would actually be easier to get a good result. Like Rasta says; you'd still need to level that divot in the grill.
