Oxygen Sensor Damange Causes

My car was front-towed without me being there by the lovely city of Chicago. The tow and ticket was dropped. Since then, my check engine light turned on. I had a diagnostic run and it comes up as an oxygen sensor failure! Is it possible that the tow was the cause, or is it just a fluke? The car is shaking really bad and it's pretty loud! If it's their fault, I'd love to submit the bill to them!!

There are actually two oxygen sensors in our car, one before the cat and one after.

They normally last for 90K miles, but I have heard failure at 18K miles they were replaced under warranty.

This was a fairly common problem on the 1G, maybe it will continue into the 2G as well.

What do you mean by 1G -First Generation? If so, I guess I'd qualify since my TSX is an '04. Do you know if there is a recall going on for the O2 sensors?

the tow driver someway some how must have got the exhaust pipe hooked on something and burst the pipe cause that code to come up because the 02 sensor isnt reading the proper flow. the 02 wont cause the car to be loud, but a broken exhaust will
