Well, I just replaced the battery in my wife's 2009 TSX Tech and discovered a rodent nest under the battery just to the right (see photos). The rodent gnawed into the cable bundle under the nest and stripped some pieces of insulation off. A yellow/orange wire that terminates in a brown connector with a blue and green wire appears to have been severed.
My question is what does this yellow/orange wire do? We haven't been on a long vacation (2 weeks) since September and our last short vacation was in February so this has been there for a while. The nesting material appears to have come from some other cars air filter.
The car runs fine. Everything works. No info light. No check engine. Fuel economy is fine. All options work. So I'm wondering whether it is one of those wires for an option not available in the US or something like that.
Because it is so tight in that corner of the car, I couldn't tell where the cable bundle came from or where it was going which does worry me a bit.
If anyone can help identify the wires involved, I'd really appreciate it.

Wow, looks like you got off lucky.. the brown connector not connected to anything makes me think that the wire harness is used in another model and/or trim level and is not currently in use in your car. As such, i wouldn't even worry about it.
I suspect it's for something not commonly spec'd for the U.S. market, like the headlight washer (though it's not that) option or similar, as my '11 non-tech has the same wires and male connector, open to the elements. I'll look through my '09-'10 electrical troubleshooting manual if nobody else chimes in with an answer.
