Help! Courtesy light won't go out

I was swapping the courtesy lights on the door with LEDs at first the housing fell back into the door but I was able to get it out with some pliers. Now when I put the LED in it stays on and doesn't turn off when I close the door, but when I put the normal bulb in it won't turn on. I'm not sure what it could be?

I'll probably just end up taking it to the dealership but I would prefer to fix it myself if I can. Does anyone have any idea of what it could be??

Thanks

You do know that the dealership will charge you for the repair as it is not covered under warranty.

i would try a reset.

undo the negative terminal from the battery.

step on brake or put lights on to drain system.

reconnect and see what happens.
