Excessive water coming out of AC drain!

Hi all:

Not sure if this is a problem or not-last week I did some accidental off-roading in my 2010 TSX (went off side of road into a ditch-blew out front tire and bent rim).

Took car to my acura dealer-they replaced tire and rim and checked underneath for any additonal damage-said there was none.

Today when I got to work I noticed a large puddle/stain where I park my car, and I looked underneath and saw what appears to be excessive dripping from the AC condensate drain. I am pretty certain it is just water as I felt and obsevered the liquid and to my untrained eye-it's water.

I am in the northeast so I am not running the AC this time of year, and because of the recent accident I am a little concerned-but don't know what the casue could be.

All other fluid levels appear normal, car is not overheating, etc.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

One last thing-I realize some dripping from the ac line is totally normal-this just seems like an excessive amount and I never saw this much under the car before

Have you checked your turn-signal fluid reservoir?

do you have your climate control set to auto? if so, while you may not think you are running the a/c, I believe it still runs which could be the cause of the fluid. I turned my auto off for the winter b/c I didn't want to have the compressor run when it's not hot out.

I have the AC on most of the time and very often quite a bit of water will trickle out from underneath the car. That said, I have no idea what's considered "normal" for you. If it's substantially different then I would go under the car and have a look. Have there been any dramatic climate changes lately? For example, it's gotten really cold out here in the Bay Area the past few days and that could cause something not "normal" to happen.

it has been pretty warm in the northeast the past few days, so if the car is on auto, my guess is that it's just normal a/c fluid release.

^^ What he said. I know with the 3G, on auto, the AC will turn on to keep the humidity down.

the more the outside air is humid, the more there will be condensation water accumulating and draining.

yup

the first week I had my car, it was set to auto and after driving it home after work (40 miles), there was a huge puddle on the floor of my garage. I didn't think I had the a/c on so I was pretty freaked out that my new car just died, but then I read on here how auto runs the a/c no matter what time of year <phew> turned the auto off the next day for the winter
