early shift to 4th hear

Hi guys

Can anyone confirm when your auto shifts to 4th gear, well at what speed.
Looks like mine shifts to early while traveling at about 45-50kmh and causes vibration/shudder since rpm at this speed in 4th gear are 1500rpm.

I changed my oil few times to dw1 so maybe time for dealer visit

Yup, it can shift to 4th at 30mph and to 5th at about 42mph. I think it only happens when accelerating very gently (almost never for me). The ECU is trying to save gas this way.

yes only gentle rpm , otherwise shifts smooths as.

does yours make that shudder like sound ? same like with manual if you shift to low gear and not enough revs / speed?

Every one I've driven does this. I have a slight hill on a marked 30mph stretch of straight road that I drive every day. Past the crest is a fixed speed camera so I set the cruise on this road at about 35mph. I get the vibration each time when the car accellerates slightly to keep that 35mph on the slight incline.

Hey all

Update ;took car in to Honda service and spoke to service manager which tested car and advised its normal and its same like all models, they said due to gear ratios and speed.
So no problems tested another 2012 car and same thing so its common and normal.

Another update.

Spoke to service manager and taken car with him for drive.

Apparently its normal. So my worries are over, he did say if I wish to keep the car to do drain and fill as Honda recommendations are too long to leave unchanged.
Said to use dw1
